    Pretty good stuff!

    • Is is better than the Masterfoods one?

      • It's better than that one yeah, but SMOKEY BBQ is still the goat.

        • What brand is SMOKEY BBQ sauce?

      • Yes.

  • How sweet are these ( mainly interested in the original )? I don't like sweet styles.

    • +2

Was not as sweet as other bbq sauces. This is still very sweet though so you may not like it

      • Thanks, sounds like still too sweet for me then.

          sounds like still too sweet

          wrong sense

          • @jv: ??sound"s??

@ozhunter68: Thanks, that sounds like it's too sweet for me.

Thanks, that sounded like it's too sweet.

Haha I'm still not sure what JV wanted you to say.

@jv: "Looks" like still too sweet?

Try Stubbs original if you don't like overly sweet sauce. It's quite nice

      • OK, thanks. Will look out for when it's on special next lol.

      • "mickey7788" Had a look at the "stubbs" range of sauces yesterday at Coles, and saw

( I had to ask another shopper to read the small print sugar % per 100mg as my eyes in the last year are starting

to fade lol ) that the original only has around 13/16 gr. sugar per 100 gr. , so thanks for the heads up.

Will grab one when on sale, or my bottle runs out.

The whiskey one is extremely sweet. Not sure about the others.

  • orginal stuff is good. Has more Smokey flavor than Heinz

I tried the Smokey Bacon one last time. It was horrible. I wouldn’t buy it again. Sweet Baby Rays is much nicer, albeit more expensive.

Not when you buy from aldi after the main sale is over and they clearance them 50% off. Works out to about $1.75 or so for a 473 gran bottle. I usually buy a box at a time then.

      • Same.

    • I agree. founds it pretty bad and threw it out after one use

    • Also not a fan, Sweet Baby Rays is much nicer

    • Yep. Smokey Bacon tasted like detergent for some reason. Not joking.

    • Their other sauces taste great but agreed smokey bacon is not that pleasant.

Tangy tomato is pretty good, little bit chunky with a hint of zing. Goes well with any red meat.

Just know that the sweet whiskey glaze is just that, a glaze. You need to cook it (eg brushed on ribs for the last 15 minutes of cooking).

The reason is because of the whiskey (even though only 1%), it needs to be cooked away.

If you're not happy with a BBQ sauce you've purchased, try adding a little bit of orange juice and bringing it up to a simmer.

Original BBQ and Sweet Whiskey Glaze are good.

Tangy tomato is literally salsa sold as a sauce.

And Smokey BBQ tastes like a cleaning agent.

    • Might try the whiskey glaze.

  • +1

Original is better than original Sweet Baby Rays. Whiskey glaze is decent. Tangy tomato and smokey bacon are ones to avoid.

At this price buy the original, but the best sauce in Woolies range is Stubbs BY FAR.

    • Personally not a fan of the Original Stubbs. Sweet Heat is good though.

      • Stubbs is the closest to proper Texas/Kansas sauce that you can buy retail here. Everyones tastes will differ ofc.

        • They use legit ingredients too. No weird crap.

  • Be mindful of the sugar content, just sayin'

    • +1

Why? It's bbq sauce, everyone knows it's loaded with sugar.

      • Just a call out, i went to buy Sweet Baby Ray's until i read it was 53% sugar

  • What kind of meal do you guys use it with?

    • -1

      Cereal.

          Sous Vide Pork/Beef/Lamb Ribs.

Stubbs is the best. Also likes a Costco one called Johnny, but haven seen it in a while

  • The only BBQ sauce that I could find that didn't contain any colours. I wish it had a type of squeeze opening to pour. Otherwise, a little heavy on the sugar, but it's a quality sauce!
