720p Hi-Def video Sunglasses

Noticed (via articles)at the Security 2011 exhibition and conference in Sydney you can get sunglasses with HD video recording functionality.
They take 720p hi-def video onto a removable micro SD thats in the specs arm and you get 2hrs from a full charge.

I've seen similar things on the chinese bargain sites but these are shipped from AU.
Probably made in china I know but at least you are dealing with someone in AU if you have issues and need the 12mth warranty.

Anyway, the thing that caught my eye was the price.
4Gb is $150 and 16Gb is $200 You can go to 32Gb but seeing a full charge does 2hrs the 16Gb looked like the best bet.
You could always add your own card I guess if you got a deal via OzB.

If you are a cyclist or perhaps you are into paragliding etc these things would be a ripper.
I'm think of getting a pair for use when I'm bush bashing on the motorbike.
Dont think they records sound so you would need to add your own cheesy 70's pron music to your "private" movies :P
Not sure they'd fit my oversized noggin tho.

Has some decent sample videos as well.

    Hi, saw your post.
We sell 720P Video Sunglasses as well, they are awesome! Ours come in Black or Camo, with a rubberized frame for comfort.

And yes, they have AUDIO and digital capabilty.

We offer a package with 16g-Class 6 card (good for 3-3.5 hours of video, they record in 3 minute cycled clips, for easy download and posting to youtube, etc) , 4pk of extra lenses (comes with smoked lens, extras in red/clear/yellow/black) and a bonus USB car charger.

Package is $114.99 Canadian plus shipping (we are in London,Ontario, and have shipped to other customers in New Zealand and Australia).

please check out our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/Videosunglasses
for a sample of customer videos (we have Tech Tips in the NOTES section, and ongong contests for our customers!).

Our reg. 2g version of these glasses start at $69.99 (www.videosunglasses.ca) and the Facebook special mentioned above is available by emailing [email protected] (we will be updating our website shortly to add this to our offerings, as well as two other new models!).

We started this because we ride motorcycles ourselves, and thought it was a great product, but are great for bicycling, hunting, fishing, golf (get that hole in one on video!), warranty work (easier than a camera to carry up a ladder), your kids sports games (send grandma and grandpa videos and still get to watch the game with both eyes!).

Hope you will check it out!

  • Looks like they are the same glasses when you compare the images used on each site.

So depending on shipping its probably worth a look, thx.

    • Advice from optom regarding sizes, if you have a large noggin then dont buy with out trying them on.

      • hi dirtybird, just a note, ours have a bit more flexibilty than the shiny black ones you may have seen, are a more rubbery frame, sold them to some BIG ole bikers, and fit them all so far!
