We've gone from 9 original recipe for $9.95 to 10 tenders for $10.
    Yay?

    • +14

      I say nay

      • +1

        yeah nah

      • +1

        Yeah exactly ahaha

        • +1

Serious question, what happened to the 9 pieces for $9.95? Haven't seen that offer for awhile. WA here.

          • @ziggyy: Think it retreated to QLD only sadly.
Unless there's a store in NSW I can still get it? Hehe

@pennypincher98: Merrylands Stockland does the Bring Back Dinner deal which is 9 pieces of original chicken and 2 sides for $15 after 4pm. Pretty sweet deal I reckon, since I would still add chips with the 9 pieces only deal.

              • +1

@hymio: That is a great deal indeed, combining with survey chips and drink for even better value.
Merrylands isn't even that far away (still doesn't constitute a trip but well worth looking to see if this deal is anywhere else).
                Thanks for that :D

    • Peeling funny tasting meat from chicken thighs gets old. And they put like 3 of those in a $10 nine piece box. Pass

    • I found that when they had the 9 for 9.95, the chicken wasn't all that good - usually undercooked and lacking flavor/coating. It put me off bothering with kfc all together. Shame..

    10 Tenders for $10 @ KFC

  • I dont see this in my app (SA)

    • -1

Maybe you can get it after the early access ends…

    • Have you had a look inside Colonel offers?

      • Yes thanks, got the email then showed up in Colonel's offer..
Already purchased and consumed with the Mrs. Cheers

Get the 10 tenders, 10 pack of tortillas, grated cheese, lettuce and some spicy mayo and make your self some tacos.

  • +2

I normally have 2 packs of 10 for second dinner. Excellent with bbq sauce!

    • +4

I think you might be joking… but I think 2 packs in itsself is over the normal daily calorie suggested limit, let alone a first dinner.

      • +56

        I never joke about KFC.

      • +1

NatoTomato.. I don’t think he was heading in there looking for a healthy meal. Let the guy eat

    • +1

Give me hunny mussy or give me DEATH!

  • +2

    Need hot and spicy back!

    • Hot & Spicy has gone downhill. I remember it being actually hot and actually spicy in the 90s and early 2000s.

For my H&S fix these days I'd rather have Belle's Hot Chicken, their "hot" flavoured chicken is amazing.

  • +5

10 wicked wings for $10.95 is a better tasting deal <3

    • +4

Get the 18 wings for $14.85! Saves a bit more.

      • Agree. Got that 18 from build ur own buckets. Price may vary a bit depending on state

    • As if, you get less meat from these tiny wings, and you need to peel like a scavenger

    • HOT take here. Very SPICY content.

  • +2

they have a nice texture but are extremely salty.

    • +2

They aren't too bad. Hungry jacks thick cut chips r salty af

  • Can you get free sauces with these?

    • +1

      Just got mine. No sauce

      • Can you ask for free sauces or you gotta pay?

        • +1

it'll cost you 50 cent plus your working kidney per sauce packet.

        • Not sure. Worth the try to ask for free. Worst that could happen is they say no.

      • +1

Just got it too. They want 50c for sauce lol

        • I bet they make a cool 45c profit from that

    • Just got a box of them the girl asked any sauces i said yes and i got 4 bbq sauces no charge

  • +2

Be aware most stores won’t sell proper tenders, they just slice the breast into very narrow strips. I never had tenders size like the ones in pictures in the past.

  • +4

Let the tendies hit the floor

    • +6

      5 second rule

  • +4

Better than original recipe. I don't want to fiddle around with bone in my meat.

    • +3

      • +2

        Yeah and the veins too.

        • OMFG the veins and the funny meat from the thigh tendons

  • hmm

    10 x Original Tenders for $10 - 3804kJ

    5 x Original Tenders for $9.95 - 3012kJ - counting sauce?

    3 x Original Tenders for $6.95 - 1696kJ - counting sauce?

    • It's not about the kJ its about the taste.

      • Think the point I saw was that 10 tenders is twice as much as 5 and only ~25% more Kj. How is that the case

        • +1

Maybe they use small tenders for these deals..

        • Yeah I know. But the taste is so exquisite.

  • Nom Nom Nom, thanks OP. Just got my fix for the month.

I did have 2x Supercharged sauces.

They were free when asking for the after receiving my order.

I find that 9 times out if 10 they don't charge for sauces when getting them that way.

  • finally, some good boy points!

  • So here I am sitting at my desk, eating my 10 original tenders for $10 & I come across this OzBargain post. Perfect timing really. I didnt want to pay the $0.50 for sauve so got some Nandos Peri Peri sauce which was half price at $1.92 at Coles to go with my tenders :)

Can definitely say though, the tenders are pretty salty. Good, but a little too salty.

  • Just had a box. Absolutely awful, the coating wasn't in the slightest bit crunchy and oil was dripping from them. I now realise why I rarely visit KFC.

    • Which store?
      Just so we can avoid

      • +2

It's in the back of beyond. It's unlikely many on here will be visiting this week!

I suppose 10 minutes in the air fryer and a good wrapping in kitchen paper towel afterwards would have made them considerably better.

    • +4

I've come to realise that freshly cooked hot and spicy & wicked wings are the only worthwhile things from KFC. Everything else is a bucket of regret IMO.

      • I don't eat there enough to know but the ones I had yesterday could have been so, so much better if they had been cooked properly……for longer in hot oil, and left to drain a bit.

  • Can you get the baked tenders instead of original?

    • +3

Yes, just edit in the app.

    • Why would you, tho. Lacks the spices of the OG tenders

      • +1

        For Keto

        • Would only make a lick of a difference, in terms of carb intake, IMO

          • @payton: Don't need to IMO.. can check the panel from kfc website, and yes makes a huge difference.

  • Hot n spicy tenders?

  • +3

I still miss the Crispy Strips.

  • Tenders are so small, barely any meat.

Rather have Maccas 24 nuggets for $9.95

    • +1

I disagree, the actual chicken quality and volume per tender were good. My issue was the soggy coating and soaking of oil.

  • These be swapped for Zinger tenders?

  • +8

These are so crap compared to the old crispy strips.

    • +1

Has any fast food gotten better over the years?

    • +1

      Definitely preference.

Crispy strips are great but these tenders are tossed in the same seasoning as the OG chicken (aka 11 herbs and spices) so I much prefer the taste on these.

      • That's fair, I prefer the blander flavour and the crispiness of the old Crispy Strips. These may be tosseed in the same seasoning but are pretty salty IMO.

    • Blasphemy.

The crispy strips were just a slightly less artificial version of the garbage you find in supermarkets or cheap tuck shops.

Now they’re golden branches of bliss.

  • These were delicious and fresh at hawthorn Glenferrie rd

  • They're always good and fresh from Glen Waverley cos it's a relatively new store

    • +1

Is that the one near the corner of Springvale Rd and Ferntree Gully Rd? I can't think of any other store in the area.

      • +1

Yeah that's the one, its my local. A few years ago it was a car wash. It's been there at least a 3 years now but it's still pretty new and just been renovated again. Chicken is almost always fresh and good here.

        • Nice, will have to pop by the next time I'm in Melbourne.
