[NSW] Free Coffee, 7-11am 28/2 & 10am-2pm 29/2 @ Toby's Estate (World Square & Chatswood)

160

Australian specialty coffee brand Toby's Estate has just dropped a new line of single-serve instant coffee bags, aiming to improve the quality of instant coffee — and provide a product for both coffee aficionados and casual drinkers. To get you on board, a pop-up is happening in Sydney, where you can get yourself a free sample and enter into the draw to win a year's supply of coffee.

The single-serve coffees come in two flavour profiles: 'The Next Frontier', with hints of dark chocolate and toffee; and 'Forbidden Planet', for the more fruity taste of strawberries and milk chocolate. You can give them a try at World Square from 7am–11am on Friday, February 28, or at Chatswood Mall from 10am–2pm on Saturday, February 29.

  • Chatswood Mall from 10am–2pm on Saturday, February 29.

That's stupid timing imho. Would've gone to a Friday, but on Saturday I'm not needing to pass through there or visit the general vicinity.

  • +3

Got one of these at the train station last week.

Coffee beans shipped from (I guess) Sth America to Australia

Roasted here, then sent to USA for packaging

Raw packaging likely to come from China to USA

Then shipped from USA to Australia for single serve coffee.

Perfect cuppa before heading to the climate rally.

  • 7.20am. Hadn’t managed to hook up hot water so nothing happening yet

  • Set up now. They have out a coffee bag while you wait in the line, then brew them for you using hot water from an urn.
@DivZero may have a point, but much less waste from these than a typical pod coffee, and increased convenience as you just need a cup and kettle, not a special machine.
The bags smell good. I'll post a taste update once it's been brewed.

Update: they leave the bag in when they give you the cup. Mine was really hot, so I waited for it to cool a bit, but found it started to go bitter if the bag was left in too long. I'd suggest not leaving it in if you're not drinking your coffee straight away.
