    Had one like this before also from China. Just to share that the edges where you would normally place your forearm has a sharp edge feel to it which makes it feel uncomfortable and causes indentations in your flesh after awhile. YMMV.

    Good/sturdy desks can be had on gumtree for same or even less. Sometimes people are literally even giving them away.
    I guess you just need some roof racks or a trailer.

      I bought one on ebay 3 weeks ago, (Artiss brand, 120cm White - $86), and I also thought it'd be a bit flimsy but it turned out surprisingly sturdy.

      Swapped the position of the second shelf and its back bar and the Thermaltake Versa H17/H18 case fits in well on the bottom shelf.

      Got a couple of RasPi's attached to the frame via magnets from scrapped IDE HDD's, top shelf currently has a Mini-ITX machine, (Silverstone SG05 case).

      Shakes a little with any energetic movement, (eg. gaming), it could do with a diagonal brace behind the shelves - something that could be added using 10mm x 2mm Al flat painted white to match.

      Desktop is 15mm thick, supported on three sides by a square tubular metal frame - you'd need to give it a pretty good bash with a hammer on the bookshelf end to crack it I reckon.

        hmmm… 15mm, is there at least a metal bar that runs across the width under the table top? else it's not going to hold a lot of weight, and will bend out of shape over time

          That's going to take a hell of a long time, depth is only 48cm - wide enough for a monitor and keyboard in front of it. The monitor will be sitting above one of the side rails and nearer the end that has the cross rail.

          If you've got bigger than a 24"-27" monitor then you're probably sitting too close and need a deeper desk anyway.

          Exactly how much weight are you going to be putting in the middle of the top of this desk?

          I've got an Ikea desk that's twice the width and a bit longer, a couple of mm thicker laminated particle board, and only supported at two points along each long edge.
          I've had it 30+ years with who knows how many computers, printers, electronics, junk on it and it has bowed maybe 1-2mm in that time.
