So people that only own Nintendo consoles or want a portable version of their favourite games shouldn't be allowed to?
These games also aren't made by Nintendo.
I wasn't being negative I thought. Just making a point, everything is coming out for that console. If you are into portable gaming, its definitely the console to have.
Nintendo manufacture the games, host the online store and collect licensing fees. They are making money on every game sold on the system. It makes sense for them to be approaching developers and helping them get their games ported.
You're right though. So many games in my library that I've got on Steam but want the playability of having them on a smal ldevice.
Catch 22, Rocket league and overwatch are the 2 games I've probably played the most in the few years since they came out. Yeah, a portable version would be great but crappy WiFi, frame rate (OW) and joycons (recommend the Hori switch pad) make it a hard sale
Not to mention you need to pay the switch subscription to play them online.. I felt really screwed over because I got this when it first came out and then Nintendo released their online service which meant I couldn't play online anymore…
They announced the paid service before the Switch itself released if I recall correctly.
It was always going to be a limited time deal. If you wish to continue playing online, families are dirt cheap to join or create as another option.
And while I agree these online service subscriptions are all too much money, at least Nintendo don't pretend you get to "keep" glorified rental games like the other systems do (exception being the older bc games on Xbox One).
At the end of the day, an online subscription is only worthwhile if you want to dedicate a lot of time to a specific or handful of online titles
Personally, I'm in a family group and have over 820 hours in Rocket League on Switch, so I can somewhat justify my annual fee of around $12-$15.
I mean, it's not like we have any choice if we're a smash Bros, tetris 99 or splatoon player. So it's just making use of a service we're already going to be using.
It's kind of like the virtual console thing, I don't play it, I'm not interested in it, but hey, it's there if anyone else in the house hold wants it, cause I'm basically permanently online for smash.
While yes, all the games I have rebought on the switch I've actually played way more than whatever platform I originally bought them on.
Finally on sale after being frequently on sale in international stores. Thanks OP!
UNDERWATER
Bought for my son, thanks! 🙌🏽
Buyer Beware: This is the worst controlling version of the game simply because the joycons and pro controller don't have analogue triggers. There is no acceleration, just go and not go. It's fun enough still for playing on the go though.
Are you a high level player?
I've played almost exclusively on switch (820 hours) and have no issue with control. Fringe Diamond player in 2s and play against PC players regularly.
I'm not claiming to be a high level player by any means, but I feel, in no significant way, restricted by slow acceleration mechanics that come with an analog trigger setup
Used to be considered high when I played since launch. Play less now. It's just the least optimal version of the game and you're straight up giving yourself a disadvantage in cross play.
A disadvantage that doesn't affect me due to adapting to my environment
I agree. I feel restricted playing on the switch compared to PC.
On PC I'm a Diamond 2, on the switch I'm a Gold 3 tops.
Champion 2 here can confirm if you're taking game seriously switch version sucks just purely because of resolution and controls it is hard to notice players that are far away and more often than not calculate the distance to the ball.
The switch is going off! If you like re-buying every game you've ever bought in the last twenty years.
Nintendo are really making hay while the sun shines. I don't own one, but its hard not to notice.
