IKEA Eat Your Discount! Dec 12-16

730

Not sure why this hasn't been posted yet… Just saw it in the 2012 Ikea Catalogue. Valid from December 12th-16th.

"Eat, shop, save! Eat at our restaurant when you shop and we'll take the price of your meal off your in-store purchases."

I'm assuming this is for all stores seeing as its in their annual catalogue.

Enjoy!

Mod: Added dates to title. Please remind a mod in December and we will sticky to frontpage

EDIT: Cheers mod! Hope I remember then!

Thrymr - "Probably worth noting that this is applicable only in NSW, QLD, and VIC.

WA and SA have a different catalogue (http://onlinecatalogueasia.ikea.com/AUW/en/2012/IKEA_Catalog…), and this promo isn't featured in it."

greenpossum - "Remember that you must lump all your food and drink purchases on one docket. They won't accept multiple dockets at the checkouts."

Mod: All fixed and stickied.

  • Just got back from Rhodes. At about 2:30 the restaurant was pretty damn empty. I only spent $10.90 there, the chicken snitzel and chips tasted terrible but it went towards the things I got. I might go back and make a larger purchase and get some chocolates/drinks to take home on Friday.

  • I am in WA….. this is so unfair…

  • Is the cost of delivery included in the discount?

  • Am I right to say this discount is effectively a "up to 50% off" sale?

    • More.

      2 people = 70$ worth of food.

Bought $99 Table and table legs

      = $30

Richmond, Victoria btw. And yes, we had enough hot food for 3 people on each tray.

      • How do you figure that? You got $169 of value and paid $99. That's 41.4% discount.

        • Technically speaking, I don't think including the value of the food in the total is fair. We bought lunch, and we got 70% off the price of the table, which is how i think most people will view the discount.

        • Well if you look at it that way, then it could be up to 100% discount, i.e. a free meal. :) Provided you were going to buy the furnishing anyway. Or better still, waited for months to, like a true OzBargainer. (My bum hurts from the swivel chair I'm waiting to replace.) :)

  • +1

This is my sharing.. I went to Tempe store and bought worth around $22 of food, drinks and chocolates.
But when I bought stuffs worth $22 from the store, the cashier reduced my discount for $5 because the chocolates are not included in the promo. So I ended up paying $5 extra. Maybe this is because the cashier saw my 5 blocks of chocolates on my hand.

Nevertheless, I am definitely going there again tomorrow. Haha..

    • that's why i take a bag with me to stash all the spare food/drink i buy :)

  • i saw this dude bought the whole 2 box of choc.. maybe 50 block of choc per box.. cashier seems fine with that..

    • They have choc at the restaurant? Last time I have to spent at the restaurant not the food shop.

  • IKEA 'Eat Your Discount is active in SA between December 19 and 23.

  • nom nom nom :D

  • got back from the rhodes one… the portions are discounted as well :(

    • yeah the chicken schnitzel I got was really tiny and tasted terrible. was $4.50 and definately not worth it. 2 pieces of frozen chicken schnitzel and a few chips. couldnt finish it was so bad.

  • Basically you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner and use the receipt to buy stuffs. :p

As they said in the t&c the stuff you buy have to be in one transaction but not you eat.

But if taste terrible ……. :O

    • Did it today lunch and dinner but they said each have to be in one transcaction so end up bought 2 items.

  • i ate my $14.50 discount tonight :D

  • went back and got $30 worth today, really ikea food is so overpriced and tastes absolutely terrible!! Had the salmon wrap and it had ice in it and very light on salmon. Bought a $9 packet of those daim chocolates which are alright.

  • Took a friend to Rhodes tonight and ate $60 of food. Pity the meals are cafeteria standard but what do you expect? Dining room was 3/4 full and the queue tolerable up till about 6 pm, then the crowds came in. Biggest problem was shortage of seating. Checkout queues were surprisingly not much longer than a normal day. Maybe we got out in time.
