@Tythefly86: its more fun than water

            • +7

@Tythefly86: I don't get it. The article you linked to summarises the expert opinion and available evidence as follows:

              1) aspartame is safe for people who drink 19 cans per day or less.

              2) asapartame will not help you lose weight (but then neither will sugar)

              3) in people who are not obese, it will not disrupt your body's metabolic response to sweet food and drink

None of this supports the view that coke Zero is bad and that you're better off with sugar. Sugar has very well established metabolic impacts so should surely be avoided more than aspartame.

Water without aspartame in it is absolutely safe.

The evidence from regulatory bodies in US and Europe is that water with normal amounts of aspartame in it is considered safe too.

@mingofmongo: The problem of Tythefly86 (and many others I have seen around) is they skim read an article online and then think they're some sort of scientist :P
and people should be careful of what they see/read online anyway. I wouldn't bet my money on "medicalnewstoday" lol

                • @Scythic: And the problem with people like you is you think you know someone from 1 comment lol 🤦‍♂️
You assume I skim read one article but I've seen plenty of stuff over many years lol. No I'm not a scientist, I never said I was. I just think you're better off eating real food. Most people that would choose coke no sugar are probably fat and trying to avoid calories and there is sufficient evidence to suggest it causes insulin resistance and doesn't help these people lose weight.. The studies are by no means conclusive and I never said they were, but it's something to be considered. Why do actual Scientists recommend staying away from aspartame then Mr smart guy?? I'll take a Scientist opinion over you random people who think you know me over 1 comment haha.. You only prove how little you know by justifying your opinion with assumptions that try to cut me down lol. Want to here from someone who knows more than you and me both? Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=badct9jXJjo

And you complain about others thinking they know everything about a person based on nothing.

@BargainEnjoyer2022: LOL How far do you need to reach for that one buddy lol.. The whole point of coke no sugar is to cut the calories and that was part of my argument 🤦‍♂️. Go away troll.

                • @Scythic: By the same token. I don't think I'd trust random people on OzBargain for medical advice.

  • Anyone know how long cans last before going flat/bad?

    • Artificial sweeteners maintain their taste for no more than 6 months.
Expiry date formdiet soft drinks is not so much about microbial contamination - they won't go "off" for years - but after 6 months the taste will get progressively less pleasant.
Exposure to light accelerated this process, so if you store in a cool dark place you might be able to stretch usable shelf life to maybe 9-12 months

  • Is shipping free with sub and save?

  • I need a Coke IV. Just inject it into me man. This is a good buy. 5/7 will buy again.
