Do you have steak size (ie around 1" thick)?

    • +2

      I think you mean 2" ;)

      • Agreed. 2" is LOOOONGER than 1" :)

      • +2

        easy misteak to make.

        • Just put an order in for 1" thickness delivered as 2" is a bit too thick for Wagyu. I might have to trim/slice it down to 1" if they sent 2" :)

    • +16

I will work with our suppliers to see if we can get this in!

      • Op, I am interested on 2" thick cut (1-2kg) and 1 kg thin slice cut
Let us know if you can source it.

    • +1

I would be interested in the same

  • +5

Given 'Wagyu' is such a loose term - what's the MS/BMS on the meat and or farm? Does sound cheap @ $25/KG though.

    • +2

They haven't been very specific. I will find out. I can guarantee that it is delicious though!

      • +1

Thanks! is the photo of the actual product?

        • +2

I think we have the same supplier as these guys

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/527601

        • +4

The wagyu marble grade is 2-3 as per our chef :). We are using our supplier's picture but have now added a picture of our bowl and stock from our kitchen on the website.

  • +2

if it wasn't thinly sliced, I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

there's nothing quite like a big thick chunk of reverse-seared wagyu!

    • +5

I will work with the suppliers and see if I can get a deal! Would you want it 1" or 2"? how many would do? ;)

      • +5

1" is a little too thin for my liking… 1.5" or 2" would be perfect! I'd be prepared to buy 4 or 6kg worth if the price was around the same!

        • +4

Perfect! I will see what I can do :)

        • +1

Jealous, if I was anywhere near Melbs I'd be asking for the same, gimme fat steaks any day!

        • Update if so! I'm also considering :)

        • I'd also be interested!

      • love some 2", prepared to buy 3-4 kilos

      • I changed my mind. 2" for me delivered as parking in the CBD is a nighmare :)

      • -1

2” is way too thick for wagyu unless you are very experienced at cooking it. It is not like a normal steak.

        • Sous vide, go thick or go home, no experience required.

        • +2

Reverse seared on the smoker, cooking to 55C internal temperature, then flash seared?

I think I got this buddy. but you do you ;)

This seems a bit different to the Pokemart that was around when I was a kid. I miss the 90's…

    • +13

hahahaha yeah…. its a bit of a pivot…. but at the moment wagyu is in more demand than balls

      • +11

        Hold up…are these tauros?

      • +1

        bowls over balls™️

        • Choice of meat is all rather topical given humanity's current predicament…

    Hi Justin,

Whereabouts is the pickup location in the CBD?

    • +2

      Hi!

Thanks for your interested. It will be from our collins place shop. 45 collins street, Melbourne.

      • +2

        What is your opening hour?

        • +6

We are usually available for pick up during work hours, but we can work around you.

Any revenue is crucial at the moment, we could arrange for pickup from one of our shops that opens until 9pm.

          • @justinh93: Hi Justin, do you have any stock at the moment, I have ordered for pick up Friday night but could make it tonight?

          • @justinh93: Which stores could we pick up from until 9pm? I'm happy to put in an order and change the pick up location later.

          • @justinh93: Any chance to pickup from the Haeleys Lane store?

          • @justinh93: Hi Justin, is there an option to pickup from 360 collins street store on a Wednesday?

      • @justinh93: Is it possible to pick up from the 567 Collins Street shop if I place an order?

  • +10

Hi, what kind of Pokemon meat is this?

    • +33

      Ideally not Zubat.

      • +3

        That had me Weezing.

        • +2

It's the koffing that would concern anyone right now

  • +2

What goes best with this, tomato or BBQ sauce?

    • +3

I love it with teriyaki, but bbq is also delicious.

    • +3

      Japanese Teriyaki Sauce

Edit: OP beat me to it

      • haha I appreciate the help regardless!

  • Purchased! Love your Wagyu Poke Bowls - if only I had a blow torch at home…

    • +1

Thanks for the plus one! You can get one for pretty cheap from Bunnings or a gift shop, barbecue also works!

    • EBay about $10. The ones that just fit onto the 200g butane cannisters.

  • +1

Oh wow id love to buy this but too far away :(

    • +4

Moved the delivery radius up to 40km :P

      • +2

Unfortunately I'm still even outside that :(

I appreciate you're willing to help though :D

      • +2

Possible to move the delivery radius up to 4000km? :P

      • 45Km? please…(3976)

  • +1

interested, but can't get out to pickup till next week? is that okay?

    • +1

Of course its ok! Just let us know when you put through the order!

      • how long will this promotion be running for? thanks!

  • Wanted some 2" steak sizes, please let me know if you can source some.

  • shame they don't have stores in Sydney.

  • +1

How long would the meat last in the freezer/fridge?

    • +1

a week in the fridge would be pushing it.

and please don't freeze meat unless it's a cheap cut. Sure it'll last ages but it's not gonna be as nice. Steaks are somewhat okay to be frozen. but smaller cuts like this and mince and stuff I find loses a lot of it's flavour and texture and juicyness and searability

      • Website says they are already frozen so no choice lol (and will last up to 9months if frozen)

  • If only it wasn't for the high delivery fee, this would be a great deal. Have been wanting to do some kbbq at home.

    • +2

Sorry! At the moment the delivery part is still a bit new to us and quite difficult. This will definitely be something we look to reduce as we get more experience.

  • $25kg for wagyu nice

  • +2

Would love to order but $20 is a lot for delivery, any chance on lowering this?

    • +1

      Same here.

I am only 10km from CBD

      • Me too :)

    • +8

Sorry! At the moment the delivery part is still a bit new to us and quite difficult. This will definitely be something we look to reduce as we get more experience.

    • I am in the same boat as well!

  • +2

Any chance to lower the $20 delivery fee for those who live within a 6km radius? If I can avoid going out, I’d prefer that (have not been out for 10 days and in self-isolation).

I’d also bee keen on a pack of 2kg 1-2” thick cuts + 2kg thin sliced pack.

  • Hi OP, you got other shop to pick up? Close to south east suburb? Thanks..

  • Purchased! Waiting for the read-to-pickup message.

  • -1

I bought multiple times just in case it sells out lol . I know what those meat hoarder's would have done a couple weeks ago :)

  • Suddenly two waygu posts on the front page. What's going on?

Also I'd like to know where it was locally sourced from.

    • +4

restaurants are not ordering as they are on lock down which means lower sales of dishes that can't really be eaten as a take away mean like streaks and freshly cooked meat, It just gets saggy and tasteless.

So meat suppliers are trying to get rid of stock before it expires since we haven't run out of meat during the outbreak but are running out of clients (restaurants)

  • Hi OP!

Omg I love wagyu!!! Not sure what grade/cuts but I’m excited.

Can you split meat into 1kg per bag?

I’ve just placed an order for 4kg…. what’s the delivery ETA looking?

  • Interested in thicker cuts also. Will buy 1kg if $25 to try and if good would buy more for sure.

  • Hey OP! Keen too on the thicker cuts!

  • Just like others Im also keen on thicker slice as well. I am in churchill 3842 which around central gippsland (around 120km from cbd) would be keen if you could extend shipping to victoria wide. Might even have friend who would be interested in buying some aswell :)

  • Hey keen for this as well if you can get 2 inch cuts.

May I know whats the MB score and is it full blood wagyu or F1/F2 (crossbreed) wagyu?

    Thanks

    • +1

      Hey koflok,

      Thanks for your interest

We are working on it and will do it as a seperate deal once we confirm with the farm.

      Cheers,

      Justin

  • +1

Who's slicing the meat? Do you buy it already sliced for your poke bowls?

  • OP, ready to buy come and try but is CBD the only place I can pick them up or anywhere else along south eastern suburb?

    • +1 I'm interested but I reside in the SE Suburb.

Just checked your locations and you are all located in the CBDs. Guess we are out of luck?

      • +2

Let me work on something and probably by the next deal we can have a pickup in the SE.
