  • I ordered mine yesterday morning. However the item has not been dispatched for delivery almost after 2 working days. Hope it takes long time for the delivery. Has anybody received your cameras yet?

    • I ordered mine (600D kit) at lunchtime on Saturday and got an email at 8.25pm last night saying the order has been dispatched via Fedex International Priority shipping.
A click on the tracking link in the email says it was picked up from Tsuen Wan HK and is currently in transit with Fedex on Lantau Island HK.
So far I'm very happy with how the order has gone, as the website said it would be dispatched in 2-3 days from order, and they got it away late on the 2nd working day. If you ordered yours yesterday you will probably get your email late today or tonight I'd say.
The email says it should be delivered in 3-5 days (and you must be home to accept delivery), but the Fedex tracking site says it should be delivered by Thursday 5pm :)

The email also says the extended warranty option of 3 or 5 years can be taken up to 14 days after purchase, which is very handy for those who clicked No and then afterwards thought they should have got it after all (like me :) ).

As for anyone getting their cameras, see Sharp's post above. They ordered Thursday and received Monday.

      • Fedex status update now says as at 09.58 today it cleared Aus customs and is now at the Fedex transit point at Alexandria in Sydney, so the estimated delivery time seems right on track for tomorrow arvo :)

        • I ordered on 19th noon and by now it's been 3 working days. Still waiting for the first email to track the order.

  • Shipping to Sydney now $49 :(

    • So many of the online camera vendors charge crazy amounts for shipping (e.g. Citiwide wanted $145 postage to ship 2 small light lens and a battery to me, claiming it was over 5kg when the items weighed less that 1kg).
I wonder if there's a possibility that Kogan have since chosen a postage upgrade for all customers from International economy to International priority so customers get it faster? (my Fedex tracking says mine is coming priority shipping).
I just manually punched in the postage details for the 2kg package into the Fedex website and it comes up with $59 for economy and $75 for priority for an individual to ship from there to here, so even at the new rate I don't think Kogan are ripping us on postage.

      • When the deal was first posted on Kogan web site I checked the delivery cost and it came up as $14. Then I checked in the week end as well. Then it was $34. When I finally made my decision on the model to buy which was D5100, the delivery has climbed up to $39 which I ended up paying. Now it has gone to $49.
So be hurry to make your decision to jump or not to jump. Otherwise you will end up paying more and more for shipping. This might be the idea that Kogan is passing to customers :)

Kogan might have already got some cameras in stock in Australia and shipped them for a cheaper price and now the stocks are coming directly from HK after the deal being OZBargained and many people bought it. This must be why they charge more for shipping now. (Some one who bought this deal early on can confirm where the item came from) One of my friend said that when the cameras get shipped from HK, they chuck in some extra stuffs like cleaning cloths, cases, etc. I have no experience in buying cameras from HK before. don't know how true is this.

  • Bought the Canon 600D from these guys this morning, anyone know how fast the postage is? No rush just wondering oh and I paid $49 for postage! it was $30 ~ when I last tried to checkout, I emailed them and asked and they said there shipping rates are live updates from DHL or somthing like that.. bum! oh well excited to get my hands on the Canon 600D! It will be quite the upgrade from the S5IS! Canon! :) and if you're wondering why I got the 600d over the 550d? Swivel screen obviously! :D

    • Mine was bought 19th noon and picked up by Fed-Ex today evening. That means little bit more than 3 days. Now I am not going to get it within 5 days. Estimated dilivery is 26th means next Monday. If Fed-Ex had it picked up in less than 3 days then you should get it in the same week. Otherwise have to wait for the next week it seems. Not sure if Fed-Ex deliver to home during weekends as well. I have had some packages arriving in weekends before. Can't remember whether they were Fed-Ex or not.

  • My 600D kit arrived at my home in Brisbane via Fedex at 10.40am this morning. Ordered at lunchtime on Saturday so couldn't be happier with the total shipping time of just under 5 days including the weekend. Came in a 600D body only box, with the 18-55 lens inserted into that box. The charger has an Australian plug cord, so no plug adapter necessary. Went down to my local Harvey Norman and got them to pricematch Photo Continental at $129 for a 50mm F/1.8 II lens and I'm in business.

  • Ordered my 60D on Sunday and received it yesterday (Thursday) which is within a week, I am very happy with the time it takes for Kogan HK to deliver.

    • I ordered D5100 on Monday morning and according to FedEx mine is still in "LANTAU ISLAND HK". It's been more than 4 days from my order now. Kogan took 3 days to send the shipment info to FedEx from the day I ordered. Fed-Ex took another full day to send it out from their facility. And to my surprise it took another 12 hours to reach Airport. I never thought HK was such a big country where you have to drive 12 hours to get to the Airport. For last 12 hour mine is still sitting in the Airport. Seems like I want get a chance to play with it in the weekend unless they drop it in week end.

      • My package was sitting in FedEx facility in Derrimut just other side of Melbourne city from last Friday night. Today is the 8th day after I ordered and I should receive it some time today.
Can't wait to play with it. I still have to buy a filter for the lens. Any advice for a place to buy and brand/model??

  • Does anyone know if the body of the 600D is made in Japan? I know the ones we get in Aussie stores are (eg. Harvey Norman).

    • Yes, I just looked on the body of mine which arrived from Kogan on Thursday and it was made in Japan.

      • Thank you for that info!
