Normal price in Woolies but good for those that can't get to a shops at the healthcare workers / elderly / disabled early hours

Aint been to woolies/coles for weeks (did a big shop about 3 weeks ago, and I'm almost out, although amazon and a local IGA for a couple of things here and there has kept me afloat), do these really sell out still?

      • +1

I went yesterday and my coles was still sold out.

      • They do.

Only had a few boxes of the Woolies and San Remo pasta went I went this morning at 7am cos I'm a health worker.

Things like baby wipes and nappies have returned, but lots of stuff like flour and pasta have not. You think they would have.

These sold out pasta posts are really a sad sign of the times.

    • If it makes you feel any better the reviews are pretty bad. Exploding pasta bags, bugs and spoilt old stock.

Yep. It's become OzHere'sStock. No bargain here. Normal price.

Amazon is probably loving the attention from OzB, I wouldn't be surprised if they're controlling stock to toy with us

    • I'm good, still have one bag of home brand macaroni, all I managed to find before entering deep hibernation.

Trying to avoid the shops, locally people are using trips to Coles to entertain their kids who are BREATHING everywhere, it's nightmare fuel.

  • I just never knew Australia was so big on pasta.

  • The party is over.

Thanks OP. I was all out at home, and the shelves of my local have had no stock of what I normally buy for at least three weeks. Was able to get a few packs (looks like they're limiting it to a maximum of 5 per person).

    • You bought 5??

      • +8

Yes, downvote me if you want, but I'm feeding a family of five, and we haven't been able to buy any pasta for weeks. I don't think I'm a horrible person because I paid full price to buy no more than the capped amount of pasta. I haven't seen the previous pasta posts here, and had no idea that Amazon had such limited stock.

It's not like I used a bunch of alternate accounts to broden a hundred bags to sell on ebay.

I'm not down voting anything, although we're all in the same boat with trying to obtain goods. It's my fault for not clicking faster, considering the speed that pasta sells on amazon. Personally I was just going for 1.

          • @Fybre: Fair enough. My downvote comment was more of a general one than directed at you. I'm sorry that you missed out. It's really a terrible situation when giants like Amazon can't keep stock for more than a few minutes (or however long this was available). I was really surprised to come back and post my comment and see that they were already sold out.

      Glad I could help :)

  • Just go to Aldi! Will cost you $0.89 a bag and they always have stock!

    • Not 2 Aldi stores near me (Sydney South). Completely empty shelves of TP, pasta, eggs, hand wash etc.

    • My two local Aldi's have had no pasta for weeks now (the gluten free stuff is there but I'd rather eat the dog food first)

  • So expensive.

It's a supply chain issue, order pasta from the local pizza joint , and there is no shortage, so it's not like they stopped making pasta, same with shortage of flour, haven't seen a pizza joint close as they run out of flour …. question is how much are supermarkets ordering for restocks, or it's just a great time for them to just stock expensive verions of products and make extra money ….. my local coles has hipster pasta and lots of it but the cheaper brands are what sells out.

  • $100.00 for 5kg of pasta seems quite expensive to me.
