expired Lenovo G570 Core i3-2310M (2nd Gen), 4GB, 1GB Dedicated Graphics - $399 (after $50 Cash Back)

130

Just came across this deal after seeing an ad on TV.

Specs are: LENOVO G570 i3-2310M 2.1GHz, 4GB, 640GB, 15.6" WXGA, 6370 1GB, WIN 7 HOME PREMIUM

It's $449 but you get $50 cash back so effective price is $399. Very good deal for 2nd gen. i3 plus 1GB dedicated graphics.

not really; Cashback Terms & Conditions: Products must be ordered and paid for within the offer period of 1st April 2011 until 30 September 2011.

The only real concern that I would have is the following:
Claims must be lodged via the website within 1 week from the sale date.

This could be a big problem depending on how has centercom take to ship these out after checkout.
I just came so close to ordering one for my mothers birthday present, but decided after reading the 1 week to claim the cashback, I wouldn't risk buying it online and expecting to get it in time to claim the cashback.

ATI 6370M? Pass. Though I suppose this is a decent deal. Not great, but decent.

What dedicated graphics spec should I look for in a laptop for $400 or less?

Would you prefer Intel HD 3000 instead then? On the otherhand 6370 ain't much better, but still 400bucks for a dedicated card aint't bad.

I suppose the real surprise here is: CentreCom advertise on the TV??

They've been doing it for a while now but it doesn't pop up often. I think I've only seen it once on TV.

what do they charge for shipping to metro areas?

edit: seems you have to go through the whole ordering process to find out :-(

16.5 to VIC, 18 to syd
      1% insurance
2% extra with Credit card and paypal

yes, need to use a dummy account to find out

seems ok for a low end machine though, with dedicated video card

hey guys, is this notebook better than the buy1 take 1 from HN for hp dm1z at the moment (thinking of buying it with a friend if HN still has some)

Oranges IT have this at same price, and no limit of 1 per customer (15 available). Come on Centrecom…squeeze a bit more.

Read terms and conditions of payment to Orange - quite a pain. Does anybody know what they charge for delivery, and whether use of a credit card through Paypal is definitely considered by them to be Paypal payment? Only just signed up to Ppal. Excuse my ignorance if that's an obvious question.
