Amazon Cutting Partner Commissions - Possibly Less CR, SB etc "Cashback" To Come

Amazon has messaged it's affiliate partners to announce a cut to to commissions on items they sell.

This may mean Cashrewards, Shopback alter their pay outs to traffic in future.

CR and SB have both had "No cash back" for Amazon for the past week at least. Kinda sucky.

Cashrewards & ShopBack are no longer supporting Amazon as of early this month. From my own experience with Amazon, eBay and other affiliate networks — many are either cutting down the commission rate or pausing the program. Hopefully CR & SB (and many other retailers) will ride through this.

Amazon cut cashback on a heap of categories from the start of March too. Main ones that affected me were Grocery and Baby - it used to be worth buying through Amazon because when you took into account the cashback, often things were cheaper than the supermarket. I only realised it was happening after I had a few transactions that said "calculating" instead of the value and did a but more research. They did that one quietly, I was surprised I never saw anything about it on here!

At the moment though, I'm not surprised they have pulled the cashback/affiliate program - I keep a wishlist of products I use regularly to watch the prices and snap them up when they go on promotion/sale and on some days there is only one or two items actually in stock!

Oh it was definitely posted here before it went effective

Very disappointing when they first announced it, and it has definitely affected my buying habits. In the past, I would purchase from Amazon a lot more because they offered a relatively larger cashback than other retailers selling at same price

Eh, none of my affiliate sites targeted those product categories anyway. This will hurt later cookie purchases though. This is just temporary, right? Otherwise affiliate marketers targeting those products are boned.
