God, I hate these! I see people at Uni using them and they're all gross and oily. I don't know why people use them.

    • haha true saw this earlier today, but didn't post it…

    • +2

you answered your own question. wouldnt the keyboard be all all gross and oily if they didnt use them?

      • +3

but you would take more precaution in not getting the keyboard dirty if this wasn't there.
The fact that it is there means that people will do crazy shit on it.

      • Yeah but I think the fact that this is white makes the dirt and oil more evident.

      • @bbyboy
he missed "I don't know why people use them" >> "I don't know why people STILL use them…"

    • :o I still use one of these on my laptop and mines not oily and gross.
Apart from keeping the keyboard a bit cleaner, it really softens the typing sound.

    • dont u do it yourself? ur not asian if u dont!?
I think its mainly for drinks spillage rather than protecting it from breakage.

Well I saw it a lot in Macquarie Uni [Fobsville/ North Ryde Tafe] whenever I went to their library…
It's like glad-wrapping your car in plastic so when you sell it it'll look new again O_O
For people who are saying stuff gets under your keyboard, heard of a handheld vacuum cleaner?
For people who are saying you might spill drinks on your laptop.. well clearly this doesn't cover the touchpad, and in the picture, it doesn't cover the top buttons either. The smart solution: don't be unco when you drink, or if you're unco, don't drink near your computer
For the record… I'm asian whoever's negging my comment.

dont u do it yourself? ur not asian if u dont!?

I used to put screen protectors on the phones I've had. But the Xperia X10 is very sturdy, and all the screen protectors ever do is get scratched like crazy themselves (xperia x10 has its own anti-scratch layer), causing an uneven surface to use, as well as making me constantly replace them, time consuming (even if it's cheap, I get them from ebay).

Haha , Mr Wong, so true that is.
I also noticed this OCD behaviour by some Asians to protect their techno-investments, but it just goes overboard. It's like "dude, it's only a core i3, no need to nurture it like a baby". I use my tech like a tool and am not afraid of it looking used and worn, that's all part of the fun. That isn't to say I still take precautions to protect my things and I'm not rough on them but when you take in the petty resale value for most gadgets(usually a fraction of what you initially paid) it doesn't really matter what condition it ends up in before you dispose of it.

        • +3

I always take extremely good care of my tech for the first 2 weeks and after that I don't care :P

    • -5

By your wording it seems you got a problem with Asians, negging is a must!

      • +2

I am pretty sure he's speaking because he's one so he's entitled to say that.

    • You should know that it goes back way before tech. Don't you have furniture still covered in plastic? :)

  • I've been using it on my eeepc for ages. Still looks very clean when I remove it.

    • +4

But what's the point on having it clean if you're going to cover it up anyway?

  • +1

if only these were glow in the dark, I'd buy them. I've been looking for a backlit keyboard for my laptop but they're all too expensive

    • +8

you can probably make one with glow in the dark condoms. just cut a few and put them together. itll cost more than $0.79 though

      • +1

It's not a bargain until you link me to them ;)

Might be useful in some Halloween 0rgy

What's the point of car seat covers if you're going to fart and it still stinks up the seat?

    • you don't own dogs/cats do you?

      • -2

Confucius say: What point of glad-wrapping a sandwich if going to go off any way.

        • I say: To stop the sandwich from falling apart?

      • +2

Until a cat poops on my keyboard, I think I'm good.

    • Cause when you take off the seat cover.. your seat looks pretty!

  • man this site has bargains everyday - too bad they dont take paypal and I cant be bothered or trusting enough to give them my CC details.

    • +3

I've only ever used paypal for this

      • oh dang - someone else mentioned they didnt take paypal and I couldnt be bothered signing up an account to find out. hahah - bargains missed

        • they do take paypal and i just ordered one. i probably wont use it but i like affordable bargains.

    • The only payment method they accept is PayPal.

  • +1

This is good if you have long nails and you want something more soft to type on.

  • +1

    is this the same thing?

80 cents, 1 cent more, but its from tassie and i don't have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery >.<

  • +2

This is like the equivalent of a condom for a perverted typist and a vulnerable keyboard.

    • perfect gift idea for Larry Flynt

  • +1

You'd want to be sure your laptop's fans don't use the gaps around the keys for air intake

  • Should see those who spilt tea/water/coffee/wine etc lament why they didn't use one.

  • expired

  • I reckon it's better to get a fitted one made for your laptop. It's still <$5 and reusable.

  • What a rip off, it costs $0.8 to manufacture!

  • LOL I am like looking at a pic that looks exactly the same as the laptop and keyboard cover as I have on now~
