4.50 for 10 @ Big W - if you could be stuffed going to the shops

    • +1

Big W has no stocks for a few states at all.

      Big W - 45 cents each at 10 for $4.50
Amazon AU - 56 cents each at 4 for $2.24

But if I am correct then you can get it delivered for free if you subscribe and save as I have with a few other items I subscribed and saved and was definitely under $39 per order.

But it does feel bad wasting the big Amazon cardboard box packaging and petrol delivery fuel costs not bundling it all in one order.

I personally have a Quilton 45 pack toilet roll and Viva 12 pack paper towel subscribed and saved to auto deliver about once every 3-4 months.

Might add this to auto deliver now every 3-4 months also.

Takes the thinking out of the equation I guess sometimes.

Just need to figure out how often I need dishwashing liquid now and get that auto delivered then try combine them all at the same time to save the environment and Amazon a few bucks not that they need it.

      • But I think if you autosubcribe then price will not always be the same depending on deal at that time

        • I think this is correct which is kind of risky and bad if you don't double check your order.

I am ready to complain and file a support ticket if I get too ripped off.

Basically I am paying for the convenience and not having to ever think about it again.

The toilet rolls are very very good price but the paper towels are definitely not competitive at all being over $1 per roll when you can get as low as 70 cents per roll and sometimes if you are lucky depending on your location even lower but yeah between 70 and 90 cents per roll is a good price range for paper towels I have seen.

They are not available atm thanks to panic buying but the price was around $16.00 - 10% which is $1.60 so = $14.40 for 12 rolls which is about $1.20 per roll so a price premium of 20% for free delivery.

The toilet rolls on the other hand are not bad at 36 x 3 ply toilet rolls for same price $16.00 - $1.60 = $14.40 which puts them at 40 cents a roll which makes them also not very competitive as you can usually get below 30 cents per roll if you shop very savagely and ozbargainly which I have not been able to do thanks to work.. so I have been shifting towards living a little less frugally because my financial situation has opened up a bit.. luxury and feeling "rich" does feel nice.. I am moving around in the world maybe haha lol from 25 cent toilet rolls to 40 cents.. but yeah I don't mind the premium because delivery is free afaik with subscribe and save so it works out cheaper.

Last subscribe and save is this soap which honestly will be a nice change from home brand for a while until I get bored and try some no frills again and compare the difference.. ultimately I don't have to leave home for this so it is a win win win for me and I associate Palmolive Gold Bar Soap with well luxury so might be nice since I have been working my ass off to afford some non factory mass produced shit not saying that Palmolive Gold isn't either but hey sometimes the pretty packaging and marketing does work even if only for a moment in which case it did on me.

  • timeless alright - how long has this stuff been around?

      • I can't stand the red one! I dated someone who used this when I was at uni and she turned out to be a complete psycho:broke-into-my-flat-and -threaten-to-circumcise-me-with-a-bread-knife-kind-of-crazy😱 can't believe they still sell this she-devil scented soap.

When the economy tanks, people seek the safe-haven that is gold.

I got this last week, and it's great.

    • +2

Yeah, for when your investments start to stink.

When desperate, could also be used for a bit of laundering.

Kmart has the 10 pack for $4. Plenty of stock at my local one as well as several suburbs close by.

    • +1

not bad but for me I don't want to risk a 1 hour plus train ride to get some cheap soap.. but 40 cents vs 56 cents a soap is not bad.

This has been going in and out of stock for ages…

And apologies to the community in general for making yet another crummy time travel joke.

      • It's been this price since December mate. I'm living in the present.

Hopefully more than they use question marks!

    • Only those who don't want to get coronavirus.

I've used this stuff for years. This does not seem like a very good deal. I grab the 10-packs when I'm in Kmart (used to be $4.50 but now $4) or Chemist Warehouse {$4.49). You can get the Palmolive Naturals for the same price.

  • $39 to ship 4 bars of soap?!?!

Makes my skin dry, Dove bar soap FTW.
