  • Great headphones, used them for years before going to wireless on-ear.

I don't think they're that good, quite uncomfortable and average sounding imo.
Bought it for $200 at least 4 years ago, and the case is not of great quality

    • What the case on the on-ear like? I have only seen the case for the larger one and they aren't that great….

      • It's like some sort of suede things, so it starts to flake after a short period of time

    • Being a metal band you can stretch them bigger.

I use them for up to 3/4 hour runs, and they're super good.

Tempted to get these, as mine are stuck with the iPhone control cable.

    • Agreed, I wasn't impressed with them.

  • They look really nice, but what's the point of an inline remote for phone calls when there isn't an inline mic?
You would have to yell into your phone. Unless I'm missing something?

    • +2

      Yes it does?

      Frequency response (Microphone): 100 - 10000Hz

      • There are no pics of the mic and this is the only place it's mentioned. It's not on the Sennheiser website either. How can we know there is actually a mic?

        • Definitely is listed on the Sennheiser website under "Technical data" also as mentioned above by kwchaz.

          Frequency response (Microphone): 100 - 10000Hz

    • +3

I own a pair, yes it has a mic.

These are outstanding at this price.
I have a set and just purchased a second pair..

Sound quality is great and the best thing for me is they fit nicley if you wear glasses (no pressure on the ear).
And the other great feature is the suede cushions they never get warm like the leather ones.

    +++ from me

  • Thanks for posting. I’ve got the wireless over-ear momentums and love them. Bought a pair for another member of the household.

  • Build quality is not great. They're not durable (but then, is any Sennheiser headphone?)

Sound was average too. Muffled sound with muddied bass.

My PX100s are 12 years old and going strong

Ive has these momentum headphones for probably 5 years now, always without a case, bashing around in my backpack or satchel.

Perhaps you got a knockoff? Clear MIDs and trebel are one of these strong points.
Mine was purchased direct from sennheiser.

      • Perhaps you got a knockoff?

Possibly. I think I bought them from Catch years ago.

They seemed legit. But I heard both variants of the momentum headphones, and they had similar sound (one of those was definitely legit as it was purchased from JB).

      • Have you ever needed to change the cable for the momentum?

        • +1

          Nope.

Ive unplugged them, to give them a soak in some plastic UV protection so the rubber wont degrade, but never had to replace them.

      • You're lucky. I had the PX-100 and the PX-200 II. I took good care of them, always stored them in their case. Both stopped working after a few years.

        • I actually own 2 pair of px100 v1 and 2. I have 200 v2 as well.

All amazing, all are on their 3rd pair of foams, thats how much I use them!

  • +2

Are these comfortable? I find on-ear headphones to be uncomfortable.

    • +1

Very, especially for a glasses wearer. Since it's a full metal headband, you can stretch it to however you need.

    • +1

The over ear are great, I own a pair of cabled and also have the wireless over ear which I still need to unbox.

  • Thanks, just grabbed a pair in ivory with free shipping. Shall see how they go!

  • +1

I have momentum 2 over ear and love them. very durable and sound great. I broke 2 taotronics over ear within 6 months (headband crack on both), broke beats and many other ( cracked plastic as well) - and these momentum are like tanks - do not break whatever happens.

  • 'but you can get replacement cables for iPhone controls'

Where be these replacement cables? extra cost?

  • Do these have a Microphone on the cable? Thanks!

    • Yea they do

  • I have the over ear version and love them, sound is up ther with my HD650 head phones. BUT over ear might be different just from a comfort level and comfort will determine how much you enjoy the sound,

  • +1

Think i got the last ones!

    • Yep, both Black and Ivory now sold out.

    • Me too!

    • G'day xavi3r, just wondering how long took them to ship? I bought a pair of earphone from them, but haven't receive the confirmation email for 3 days.thanks.

      • 4 days from confirmation email to arrival. Pretty sure I got confirmation instantly.

        • Thanks for your reply. Do you mean the confirmation of shipping or confirmation of order? I got confirmation of order instantly, but not the shipping one, and no email from au post as well.

  • this is a steal for the price

  • Got these years ago. The on ear comfort is average. Theyre warm, given its fabric, so you might sweat after a while.

For the price they're okay, but because they're wired, it limits their use cases. I use them for my VR headset.

  • The cable on mine was poor quality, it frayed and I lost the sound.

  • Just recieved mine. I'm absolutely blown away. The best set I have are taotronics bh046 and I know it's not comparable being wireless and nc but sounds wise the Sennheiser absolutely blows them out of the water. I didn't realise what I was missing out on. Thanks Jaben!.
