Cheap enough - but pls check T & C's — I think you need to be prepared to sit through a 90 minute marketing session if you want these prices.

    • i have no idea. im about to call up and see if i can use it… i've booked through lastminute secret hotels for a weekend in the date range and already paid $350! hoping i can change it..

edit: looked at t/c's.. have to sit through 90 minutes of sales talk. pass!

      • I can't see where the t&c are located..

  • Im shocked its so cheap, I put in, ill see what the catches are

  • it's timeshare shit

You have to sit through 90min of brain numbing sales talk.

If you have to listen to a 90 minutes advert/lecture and
have to have your spouse sitting there with you and your kids
    not with you…

Makes it too expensive and it is more the hard sell for their product
    than a holiday.

Can you explain how giving up 90mins of your time "makes it too expensive"?

      • +1

obviously 90 mins of ur time doesnt worth as much. For other ppl, they rather use that quality time to spend with their family, work overtime, or enjoy a night out with loved ones. You rather sit there 90 mins and listen to all that crap they're trying to sell you?

        • +2

Lets assume that the holiday is worth $400 for 2 nights. That's a fairly reasonable figure. Lets also assume that the sales pitch is obligation free.

$400 - $59 = $341. For 90 minutes of your time, you are getting $341 worth of value.

If someone offered you $341 worth of goods or services, or even cash - for 90mins of your time, obligation free… are you saying that you'd turn it down ?

I'm wondering what you are doing on ozbargain in the first place if your time is so valuable. Haven't you got better things to do ?

If you think it's that easy you obviously haven't been to one of their cult masse.. eh.. sorry, sales pitche… eh… information sessions.

        • +1

Thats a lot of assumptions for someone who havent been to a timeshare presentation. Do it and see if it only takes 90 mins of your time. You most likely end up buying something and ask yourself, "WTF just happened?"

  • there is always a catch when it is too good to be true, but if you are willing to shut your brain and/or ear for the marketing session then it is a good bargain =)

they pressure you/force you to buy timeshare. force is a good description.

    • and you have to say "no" forcefully too =)

    • have u been there before? i did twice, as long u know what to say, you can make them shut up quicker.

  • I have been to one of these Accor VC's before and I think we got lucky. The person trying to sell us the timeshare was new and actually wasted most of time flaffing around. True to their word 90mins and we were free again. Wouldnt do it again tho.

  • I don't see why this is treated so negatively. Like someone pointed out, even deducting 90 minutes of your time it's still over $300 worth of holiday.

My parents went to one of these, they got airfares and accomodation in Cairns for the weekend and a free reef cruise for their 90 minutes - that's pretty good value.

Saying that, if you are too afraid to say no to the sales pitch then of course you will get roped into something you don't want or need.

I have done this a couple of times and it is actually worth it for the savings. Sure it is a lot of crap but you can always liven things up by asking them about Red Season. Do you homework before you go in and you will find that you can buy the "timeshare" through redseason for a fraction of this price. Believe me when I say that this will shorten the 90 minutes considerably and they will be happy to see the back of you.

    • hahaha, i love ur trick mate

For those who havent tried, give it a go, all Im saying is, nothing for free, you have to pay one way or another ($59 is a good start), then depends how much your time really worth..
Heres some info for those who likes to try, they will let you watch a short 30 mins video of some paradise holiday then ask you if you like it, if you dont, feel free to walk out the door, sorry no freebies.
If you nods nonstop, they will take u to a table and continue to show u some wonderful vacations of your life, and they free (yeah, wait till the end), at each stage, they will stop and ask if you like that, of course u do, who wouldnt??? then BAM!!! you start signing some contracts and go to jail.
Ok, I might have exaggerated a little..

    • on my first visit they asked me to take my freebies directly after watching the movie. the second one is longer, coz i was playing drama with them :)

  • Is this different to the Accor advantage plus membership?

    • I think this gets you a timeshare membership. we have sat through one before. Accor advantage plus you can get discount at hotels like sofitel restaurants etc right? I think they are different.

if you investigate the secondary market for timeshare, the 1st hand price is really high.

we end up booking hotels through internet, paying via discounted giftcard, buying shares in the hotel chain to get shareholders discount and staying enough nights to qualify for VIP discounts for restaurants etc. The money we spent this way was worth way more than buying just a time share membership that has black out period, difficult to book during school holidays etc.

    • yeah different, nothing to do with advantage plus. If you are thinking of joining advantage plus let me know, so I can tell you about what they are like.

      • ive got a membership with advantage plus at the moment. you will run into troubles trying to use the free night, thats for sure…
