Huawei P30 128GB Aurora $799 + $5 Delivery @ The Good Guys (Pricematch $763 @ Officeworks)

190

I've been hunting around for a dual-sim smartphone and I landed on the Huawei P30. Currently $799 at The Good Guys, I got it at Officeworks for about $760 with price-match. This is about $300 less than the Officeworks price of $1099.

Full details at https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_p30-9530.php

I was particularly drawn by the headphone jack and the dual-sim, I did consider the P30 Pro but it's about $1000 and no headphone jack, madness.

Hmm weren’t these only 390 I’d you cancel the plan quite a while ago, the phone is 0 upfront on 65 plan

  • Do google apps work in this?

Essentially an alternative to the Samsung s10.

Main difference is the camera setup (arguably better in the P30) and screen (better in the s10)

Samsung has better performance, but probably not enough of a difference to notice.

id argue that the P30 camera is not better unless you are in the perfect environment. I grabbed one of these for my partner and the S10+ both at launch and in good lighting hers takes better shots but mine focuses way faster so my S10+ is always better for quick shots. The P30 Pro has a better camera setup than the S10+ and P30 (in that order) imo.

There is a big difference between P30 and P30 PRO.

    • Exactly, I am waiting and hoping for a P30 Pro (Dual-sim / VOG-L29) deal soon…

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/508049 It was $650 on special in December. Im not how much of a bargain this is.

Mines got a weird bug where it'll either quit or switch apps when typing on the keyboard. Doesn't happen all the time but it is a bit annoying.

  • These phones haven't really dropped much in value almost a year on.

Probably because it's last generation of flagship phones from Huawei which have Google apps.

Why on the earth anyone wants Huawei when their Kirin processors are worse than Exynos. Their software isn't good either. Honestly, why would you want to pay more for basically a dumbed-down Samsung s10.

because it's a great option for the right person.

  • They are still great phones. Excellent screen to bezel ratio, incredible cameras and battery life and fast processor. Can't ask for much more.
