Officeworks - Unsuccessful Order

I made an order for the $199 AirPods mentioned in a deal this morning and received a response from Officeworks stating that my order was unsuccessful, specifically they said:

“Unfortunately, we have had to cancel and refund your order as it did not meet our customer privacy and security standards when shopping with Officeworks”

I’m sure that my card is fine and it had funds in it. They did deduct funds from my bank account too. Any idea on why this happened?

    I had that when I first ordered from Officeworks, apparently it failed an automated security check at the time. Subsequent orders have been fine.

      If only that was the case with the person who used my card fraudulently to place a $1299 order with Officeworks four years ago …

    If you still want to buy them from OW then use PayPal if they offer it. That's already been security checked and also provides them with your address.

  • I am having exactly the same problem, with two retailers. I've tried once with JB HiFi and five times with Officeworks. Goog sale, receipt, then instant cancellation and refund (although JB is being very slow).

    My contact with Officework and JB has been incredibly vague and non-helpful. Its a 'security check' with several factors, but which ones? Someone from Officeworks said I should try a different browser…

    But the last time with Officeworks was different.

    I rang their service line. The consultant (?) said she'd check it with security and get back to me. She emailed me 2 hours later, said it was clear. I bought it again (5th time), then within two hours Officeworks Business emailed me to say it was under review.

    @Justahappykid, did you sort this out? What did you do?

    It sounds to me that there is a third-party security check going on, and they may not communicate too well with the client company. Which is scary. How the hell do you get yourself green lighted on one of these businesses?

    • Hey this actually happened to a friend of mine and not me but what she did was called Officeworks just to re-place a new order. Unfortunately it seems like you have attempted this so I’m afraid that I’m not of much help here
