Recommended me a USB stick with SSD (USB type A)

Hi,

Can anyone recommended me a USB stick with SSD (USB type A)? The portable SSDs I see on the market isn't "portable" enough for my needs. I'd prefer not to see any wires lying around.

Thanks

  • nvme and 10gbps enclosure?

    • I just saw portable ssds are not portable enough. If you really want to go small have a look at 22mm (I think) m2 drives.

      • it's 30mm 2230

    • Yeah I was looking for a no cable setup and be small in size too (think of a normal usb stick but with ssd guts)

Sandisk extreme is sure to have something in their range that will suit your needs. They have usb sticks that do pretty much ssd speeds.

        • Thanks, think this is what I want!

    • If SATA III enclosures are anything to go by don't buy an NVMe enclosure.

The Samsung BAR Plus might be a viable option. I installed Windows 10 on mine for work/troubleshooting purposes and it runs almost flawlessly. Cheap and tiny, too, though you won't quite be hitting SSD or SanDisk Extreme Pro speeds.

The TweakTown Review is for the 256GB version, but it benchmarks similarly to the 128GB models that I have.

    • Thanks for the links ! It looks tempting but damn those ssd speeds are hard to resist!

I think you are looking for something like this? it isn't cheap, you'll have to buy the ssd, the enclosure and spend time assembling the device.

    • Wow this is excellent! Just what I'm after I think. Just gotta check if it takes 2280 keys for M.2

Close enough to SSD speeds, super simple, and works out of the box.
