How to sign up fo rthis?

    • Does anyone know once i sign up can i deactivate the subscription right away to stop the monthly charge? Or will that stop the trial? I.e. do i have to cancel on the last day of my trial?

      • +26

You tell us mate, you're the one that posted it.

        • +22

Not necessary I think. One could come across a good deal and would like to share with the community. Not everyone is tech savvy and we should not expect them to do a lot of research before posting the deal (or else people would be less keen to post anything at all).

Personally I always appreciate people posting genuine deals and don’t see the need to be unnecessarily harsh to them.

  • Says 4 months for me

  • +3

Says the usual 1 month free trial in the youtube app

  • +2

I already have YouTube Premium – it'd be cool if they extended my plan by 2 months instead

    • +6

It would be cool, but they already have your business ;)

    • +1

This link says "Get the Galaxy S20 series today to enjoy this offer." - Well, that is pretty bad economics; who in the world would invest 1000+ dollars in a S20 phone to enjoy 4 month of Youtube premium (worth 10$ - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/528651).

      • +4

Yep I'm happy to continue paying my Indian Rupees

        • +2

Yep I agree 129 Rupees per month about A$2.75 this link from TA https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/528651 hey I just noticed it's about A$1.73 or thereabouts for student, better fix that with my dodgy TAFE login. That'll safe me $12 a year which is 2 pub beers in my favourite currency.

      • what

    • s only open to participants in United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain who purchases any Samsung Galaxy mobile device

  • +14

    Just use YouTube Vance

    • microG won't install

      • Use SAI (Split APKs Installer) from Play store to install microG and vanced

        • SAI keeps failing for me, not sure why. Root access works fine for all the other apps

          • +1

@twig: Not sure about the Root version. Non-root version installs and works fine on my Note10+

            • @firefly2k3: Ahh might give that a try some time

At the moment the outdated Magisk version seems to be working fine so no real reason to upgrade

    • -3

      Real men use NewPipe!

    • Thanks for this, just installed it on my non root s7. Let's hope no virus installed at the same time

Update: hm…seems I still receive an ad when I casted it to my voda tv? I thought it'll bypass the ad for me?

      • +1

That's to be expected. Once you initiate "cast", the content is directly streaming to the target device bypassing Vanced and hence the adblocking will not work.

  • +6

      I have a s8 and offered me 2 months

      • +1

I have a S8 and it only offered me 1 month.

  • +1

Samsung galaxy S5 user, hope i'm eligible ;)

    • Time to see if the s2 was chucked out. I know the s3 works.

      • I know who still use Galaxy s4 (NFC payments with GPAY), so my S5 still has a years to go :)

  • +3

    Open YouTube app
    Tap your profile pic
    Hit get YouTube premium
    Accept the 4 month trial
    Enjoy

  • +1

Think I'll stick to my family YT Premium for ~$4/month

  • +1

have a Galaxy s9 and only offers standard 1 month

    • +1

Only for certain Galaxy models of recent release. Check out terms and conditions. OP should clarify that on title.

      • +1

Agreed. Post has been reported due to conflicting information in the comments as well as lack of info provided by OP.

    • Same for note 10+

    • +1

      Note 9 too

    • Same on S10 5G

  • +1

Is it only for Google accounts who have never taken a trial?

    • Yea new users only

  • If you really want this and don't have a Samsung device or the right one, what you could do is run an Android emulator on your PC or Mac (which allows you to enter the device model details to mimic/emulate), then youTube app will offer you the same deal.

Only thing is that it could be a bit of work to setup, and it is obviously the wrong thing to do.

    • it is obviously the wrong thing to do.

      Wouldn't stop many here.

  • +1

I have galaxy s20 ultra and only get offered for 1 standard month as well

    • +5

Interesting. Yet OP claims he was offered 2 months despite having only an s8. I think this post needs to be deleted due to lack of information.

    • +2

From memory, I think if you've already taken up a Premium trial (or had Premium in past), it defaults to standard 1 month offer..

edit: Yep, from T&Cs: "Offer not available to customers who currently have, or have previously had, a subscription or free trial of YouTube Premium (previously YouTube Red), YouTube Music Premium or Google Play Music."

      • I have had trials previously and got 4 Months on a GS20

        • Lucky prick :)

    • Same

  • -4

Buy an overpriced phone and save $4 (price of Indian sub in family spot for 4 months).
    Great deal.

  • +1

Mine only offers 1 month free trial on my S8+ this post is deceiving. Sorry OP.

  • only one month free trial on my S20 ultra 5g.

  • +2

    Nothing for note 9

  • On a side but related note, has anyone had success with Android YouTube ad blockers?

I've got one that only mutes and auto advances them.

    • +1

      try Youtube Vanced or NewPipe.

    • What ad blocker do you use?
I don't think any can block ads entirely anymore

  • Nothing for galaxy note10

  • Nothing for S20+. I assume due to previous trial.

    • Yep, tried a different account and was offered 4 months on same device.

  • Got the 4 months free trial on my S20+! Thanks op!
Also note to everyone, not sure if this happened to just me but they charged $1 on my payment method and would decline my card if I didn't have $1 in my account. Don't worry though bc it quickly got refunded within a few minutes.

  • Thanks. I just successfully signed up for 4 month free trial. Don't mind a bit of ad-free YouTube.

  • Pathetic, I bought the more expensive s20 plus and I miss out.

    • Just use NewPipe.

      • How does it compare to vanced?

        • +1

Allows downloading of videos (as .mp4 files) for offline viewing, allows to subscribe to channels without having an account, no ads, doesn't require root and is open-source.

  • +1

Sign up through a indian VPN. Very cheap monthly costs.

    • But it cost a monthly subscription to get the indian vpn

      • Not as a member lol.
I know you're wanting to just defend your post but honestly check classified and every other day someone is selling a year for $10.
Although I guess if you're buying a Samsung you might as well enjoy this perk aha

      • I remember you only need the VPN when sign up
and for day-to-day use, you do not required VPN connection at all
There are many VPN services that provide free trial period (usually 7-30 days) which is good enough to sign up for YouTube premium
So technically you pay nothing for VPN, just the monthly subscription fee for Youtube Premium (in Indian currency)

  • i have a galaxy a70 and never used a trial, its saying 1 month for me. p.s. i thought the a70 was supposed to get android 10 this month?

    • +1

      From Sammobile 3 weeks ago:

Samsung recently starting rolling out the Galaxy A70 Android 10 update. The firmware update had already been released in a few markets before we discovered that it may have a serious issue that bricks the device and doesn’t allow it to reboot.

There hasn’t really been a public acknowledgment from Samsung about this issue. However, the company has now halted the Galaxy A70 Android 10 release in markets where the firmware had been released. This issue has most likely caused Samsung to halt the release and develop a fix before sending the update out again.

      • thank you for the info. much appreciated.
