      Does Vegemite ever really expire?

      • yes tastes very weird when it does. i live with experts.

        • How long does that take? I had a look and it seems you can use it many years past expiry.

Was that in a humid climate?

  • Amazon have matched also now :)

    560g It’s $3.98 with s&s

As I was posting in my now dupe deal. 79c/100g or 70c/100g s&s

Amazon suggest 560g of Vegemite delivered every month ("most common" they say)! I like my veg but jaysus.

  • I prefer the larger jars (560), much easier to hold and scoop with the knife every morning.

  • +1

Prefer the salt-reduced version, when will someone reduce price on that…

    • But the whole point of Vegemite is how salty it is!

  • Ordered 560g, it’s on backorder.

  • If you S&S does that lock in the price?

    • +1

no it does not i found that out on tissues they say you always get the best price but it does not lock that price

  • is vegemite and marmite the same?

    • hellllllllll NO

    • Nice Troll!

    • Similar to me, grown up with Marmite and now Vegimite. Then again I'm no coffee snob 😜

  • still going on the bartimite jars when they were 2.50 at the start of December hopefully will be down to this price again in another 6 months when I should be down to my last two jars

  • How long does this stuff last with the jar open?

    • Just put the lid back on…

I just googled and it says upto 3 years without issues as long as its not contaminated (with stuff like butter/bread crumbs etc).

  • 107+ Brave souls upvoted this deal. I got one last year to see how it tastes, and am still mustering all the courage I can to try it again. Maybe I ll try it tomorrow :)

    • Mix a little with some cream cheese, absorbs some of the saltiness and the deep deep flavour.

For myself, I use plenty of cream cheese and a bit of vegemite to appreciate the taste.

      • Sure, will give it a try, thanks for the tip.

  • My order came today (from Amazon) and 2 of the 4 jars are completely smashed. Very poor packaging.

  • Yuk

  • Feel kinda scummy ordering just 1 jar. Is it really worth the postal footprint when I could just grab it from the supermarket next sale?

    • Yeah good point, I think you talked me out of it. Sort of need to be conscious of this, it's very convenient but there is a cost.

      • Great if you can pair it with some other items you want. I guess I'm not making the most of my Prime subscription.
