    • That review takes in consideration the retail price of $494 so they compare this computer with others with similar hardware but tagged with cheaper price.

      So why you say "is not so good"?

        I think the reason is because:
        * netbook-class CPU (1GHZ AMD)
        * 2GB ram
        * onboard graphics
        * 320GB

        so it sounds very much like a netbook - even $299 is nowadays becoming a high asking price for this type of laptop.

        If you look at a previous deal: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/53672 , for a $100 higher price tag you get a whole lot more bang for your buck:
        * 2nd gen i3 cpu (2.1GHZ Intel)
        * 2GB ram
        * onboard graphics
        * 500GB

        well worth the extra $100.

          They say that this AMD is pretty much comparable with an Intel i3 generation, decent graphic card (although the misleading negative overall opinion), same amount of ram on your deal but we don't know of what kind as well as we don't know what graphic card.

          Consider also that less powerful processors make less use of batteries so I guess for a notebook this is a must.

          Yes $100 more and you get more then $200 more… and so on.. :)

        • Comparable with an i3? Not even close.

          AMD C-50: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+C-50
          i3 2310M: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i3…

          It's about a third as powerful as a modern netbook processor.

      • How is the battery life?

        • Its a 6 Cell battery, so you should get a few hours out of it like most 6 cell batteries.

      • Did you read the review? It, not me, said it was not so good. :)

          Did you read my replay?

          I often disagree with these kind of biased reviews, as you can see they take in consideration the retail price $500 and so they say that this notebook is not comparable with others having similar hardware hence the misleading conclusion "is not too good".

          I wouldn't buy it because I prefer to spend my money on desktops but in my opinion with $300 you get a very good deal! :P

    The CPU in this is only @ 1 GHz, so much pretty its like a big screen netbook, like the review said.

  • Great if you like pathetic after-sales support!

    It's shiny! ;)

  • better spec, same price, heavier though - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/53726

  • Rubbish CPU C50 in a Massive F* laptop…

  • why the frickin hell are some comparing this to laptops?? this has a netbook cpu so of course the cpu isn't as fast as an i3, the whole idea of a netbook is a smaller/lighter package and longer runtime, i got the asus 1015b with same hardware but 10" formfactor for $238, battery life is 4+hr playing (older!)games or 6+hr wlan surfing! IMHO they should never have put this C50 APU into a 15" laptop anyway
