in case you were also wondering, it's a bicycle camera/light combo.

    seems pretty pricey to me.

      thanks

If you're not in a hurry it might be worth waiting to see if Pushys will have it on sale again. It was $254.99 in March, and 2.5 weeks ago.

But if you want one right now, it's probably the best price around!

Wrap up from CyclingTips review on the Fly12 CE (and the partner rear light/camera - Fly6 CE):
"The newly updated Fly12 CE and Fly6 CE are a noticeable and welcomed improvement on previous generations. The unique safety cameras and lights remain the benchmark option for those seeking the ability to record rides and be seen in a single device. The looped recording function is exactly what you want for this purpose, and the lights are now bright enough to ensure you're seen. They're not perfect, and for some, may still be bigger than desired, but they remain the absolute best option for what they do."

$314.84 seems like a relatively cheap price to pay for the safety a device like this provides.

    • I have the fly6 rear camera/light combo. Very happy with the light output and the video quality. Removes from its mount with a half twist which is convenient as you need to take it with you as it is a theft magnet.

Only downside is the need to remember to keep it charged as it does drain relatively quickly compared to a std, light.

I decided against getting the fly12 front light as I prefer a much brighter front light for my off road rides

I'd like to buy one, but it does seem expensive.

If they had a bigger discount to below $250, that might attract more ozbargainers.

    • +5

And below $200 will attract even more. And not to mention $150 or even $100. Just imagine how many it would atteact at $50 even.

  • An old and cheap gopro would do a better job?

    • +3

Go pro doesnt have a light attached to it

$52 would solve this feature very well…

    • +2

Barely get over 1 hour with my GoPro7, I believe the Fly12 goes up to 6 hours.

An old and cheap gopro would do a better job?

A GoPro has poor battery life and the looping video feature doesn't work the same way as this.

    • +2

I have the old version of this camera and it's great.

I actually have two, I think I paid about $140 for them

They get 4-5 hours recording. Far surpasses any other camera I've had on a bike

  • -1

TBH, if not for the camera a standard front and rear lights would do a better job….

TBH, if not for the camera a standard front and rear lights would do a better job….

You do realize the camera is the sole point of this device right? If you didn't want the camera feature, there is literally no reason why you would get this.

See they keep pushing these sales and that's what they did right before the switch from V1 to V2.

I have a feeling we are all buying into rapidly obsolete models. And unlike most other tech in bikes that progresses in longer periods (5-10 years) camera and light tech and on a very rapid cycle.

    • +1

I agree. The Fly6 had the gen 2 released a few months ago, and as far as I know the Fly12 hasnt. I do sense a gen2 around the corner.

Ive wanted one of these for a while, but they seem to have some major quality control issues so Ive always been reluctant to pull the trigger.

I have the original Fly12 and I'm happy with it.

By all accounts the CE has a much better camera and a better battery life.

I've only every really had it run out of charge once or twice and I use it quite frequently.

When it is low on battery it will go into power saver mode to prioritise the light.
