Would you be able to secure a deal for the Yeelight? After using both I now prefer the Yeelight as it can be charged with a usb cable rather than batteries.

    • +1

We have a few of the yeelight and love them. Great for kids bedrooms, hallway and bathroom. Will buy more when available.

      • agree yeelight gen 2 (gen 2 is the rechargable version) is better

        • Do you have a link to any product page about the Yeelight Gen 2? My Googling to turning up a lot of smart bulbs; I'm assuming that's not what you guys are talking about?

          • @space cadet: People call the Yeelight version gen 2. Technically Yeelight are a separate company to Xiaomi so the one in this deal is the real Gen2.

    • +11

I'll ask and see. Previously I haven't been able to get a low enough price though.

  • code is not valid

    • +1

I just tried and it's working. You have MJYD02YL - 1pc in your cart and applying the coupon NNNDELIGHT ?

  • Sorry if this's been asked before but quick question: does GeekBuying trigger foreign transaction fee? Some cards charge this even if the amount in AUD.

    • +2

GeekBuying is an overseas store so if you have a card that charges overseas transaction fees then you will. Always a good time to switch to the countless credit/debit cards without overseas transaction fees.

  • How often do u need to change battery

    • not often you dont have to worry

    • My 1st gen ones haven't changed it what feels like well over a year. They come on a just a few times a week though

  • +2

Got 3 of these and 1 1st gen, pretty good and much brighter than 1st generation. Last at least few months (brighter setting) from eneloop rechargeable battery, the magnetic design are very good as well as you can adjust the angle anytime.

  • Can the base stick to the wall by magnetic?

    • What are the materials used in your wall?

      • I have another one from Bunnings which can stick onto the ceiling which have some metal edge on it.

I have been waiting for this on discount but by looking at the description "Adhesive + Magnetic Mount" didn't tell whether the base mount have both or not, my bunnings one have both.

        But just bought it anyway.

        Thanks OP

        • +3

The base is stuck to the wall with adhesive. The light is stuck onto the base magnetically

  • Why only one :(

    • Why only one :(

      You have two accounts?

    • +2

Mainly because this deal is running at a loss ;)

  • thanks op bought one. have the first version.

  • The code is not working :(

    • +1

Code is still active. Ensure you're logged in, have MJYD02YL - 1pc in your cart and applying the coupon NNNDELIGHT

      • It finally worked thanks

  • Can the light be turned on manually rather than motion sense when walking by? So that it can be used as a normal light?

    • It runs on battery I don't think you want to use it as normal light.

      • +1

Yes, but can it though? For situations where I want the light to stay on and not turn off after 15secs of non-activity.

        • I don't think you can

        • +1

I got the BlitzWolf BW-LT15 from this deal and that can be used as a normal light

          • @bargain_finder: How's the BlitzWolf BW-LT15? Might get that one instead, seeing that this deal maybe expired due to the coupon no longer working anymore.

            • @MysticalWok: Works perfectly, i bought 3 to put on the stairs, the motion sensor on one of them died, but banggood sent out a replacement.

  • Thanks Op! Got one. I have a couple Gen1’s and they have been going strong.

  • +1

    Great price, thanks OP.

  • Didn’t need it but bought it, damn it.

    • Yeah, it's a bit like that.

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP, the angle of the sensor on these work really well.

  • -1
    • +1

Not really. The Xiaomi light has a motion sensor - the Bunnings ones you linked do not.

  • +2

Bought 2 of these a couple of weeks ago on AliExpress for $30 including delivery.

Just grabbed a third one here. Damn all these bargains.

    • +1

I literally just bought 3 of these on AliExpress yesterday for $14 each with free delivery.
Maybe everyone is selling them cheap as they seem to be popping up everywhere. The difference is this deal is limited to one per person.

      • Link? The geekbuying one has expired now :(

  • +3

    looks like the coupons dead

  • +1

NNNDELIGHT Code no longer works reached it’s limit

  • -1

the hell. i used the coupon and later input my street address and save, the page refresh and i couldnt add the coupon again. why is this a thing? i feel like if you havent bought the item yet the coupon shouldnt be consumed.

    • Limited number of discount vouchers. Other people used up the remaining discount voucher allocation while you were finalising your order.

Maybe OP can get some more discount vouchers for this.

  • +1

Boooooooooo…. Been waiting on this for ages and I miss it by a few minutes.

  • This coupon code has ultimately reached the limitation usage times.

  • Can't wait till the next deal so that I can buy more!

  • +2

    Miss good deals everytime smh…

  • Sigh. Need to stay up after 10pm for deals. Missed it again.

  • +1

:( been waiting months to get some of these, and it comes up just after i went to bed

  • ohh well - i have like 4 gen 1s and a blitz wolf one. Been waiting for these to go on sales. Next time.

  • +1

Can't justify paying this much anymore after picking up a handful of those Supercheap ones lol.
Not for this shape anyway. Flat puck style ones I still might though.

    • nah, you wont know how good they are until you have them. and once you get 1 you will want more. and MORE.
i wont buy cheap ones even for $5 each they are rubbish compare with these

      • As someone who has multiple of those 'cheap ones', do you mind elaborating on why these are so much better?

        • well, it is hard to describe, even from watching youtube you will be only 50% convince.
just go through every single thread on ozb about this lights you will see.
you need to buy one to understand. but don't just buy random Chinese lights, get mijia or yeelight or blitzwolf

          • @CyberMurning: Yep, I'm a fan of the Yeelight version and those are the 'cheap ones' I'm referring to. I'll have a look around for the new gen.

            • @Hunter14: nah, the yeelight gen 2 or some calls it the rechargeable ones not the battery ones, are not cheap at all now. hardly can find one below AUD20 unless buy multiples.

              • @CyberMurning: Yeelight have control over the pricing with stores and how low they can go on sale. If you drop the price too low and they see then you risk losing supply. Razer China were far from pleased when we sold the DeathAdder lower than their threshold.

                • @Clear: Wow didnt know this. Yeelinght doing apple style.

                  • @CyberMurning: It's very common with a lot of big Chinese brands. People have the idea that it's free range in China and you can break all the rules, but that's not the case anymore.

It's like several years ago when it was common to get Xiaomi phones loaded with malware. The main reason was stores were not buying through official channels so they were getting stock from dodgy resellers who were reflashing. Part of the reason why Xiaomi and their subsidiaries enforce price restrictions on some of their products.

                    • @Clear: I've heard Douyin livestreamers/influencers work with brands (mix of large Chinese and international brands) and are selling their products at up to over 60% off RRP + adding on gifts. They help brands generate tens of millions of revenue in one stream (4-6 hours) from hundreds of thousands of viewers.. so I think it's definitely possible selling at a much lower price, but perhaps there needs to be more customers and sales to help cover some of their profit margin

    • What Supercheap ones? Do you mean extremely cheap or the actual Supercheap Auto retailer?

      • +1
        • Woah, they seem awesome for $2. Even $8 not bad.

          • +2

@John Kimble: Yep I saw the post when they were $2 and bought quite a few - they are excellent and …worth even $8 tho not as an ozbargainer

            • @beakybaby: Spewing I missed it. And only $5 delivery!

I have a $10 voucher from here, so trying to get one delivered for $3, but it's not applying to the cart? Do you know how to do it?

              • @John Kimble: Figure it out, had to do it via desktop. Two being delivered for $11…not quite about halfway between $2 and $8 each!

        • well alright at $2 i may buy 1-2 as well but that is special case, likely happen again.
at $8, i spend extra $4.5 and get this one in the post without second thought.

  • OP can you do a good deal on Xiaomi Mijia Bedside Lamp 2 please.

  • 30-50 business days delivery? Is this normally the case or another victim of corona?

    • Last time I received something from Aliexpress in around 3 weeks. So may not really need that long.

    • +1

Usually within 30 business days but it's just been adjusted due to the delays announced by Auspost and other carriers.

  • anyone received their order yet? almost 30 days since mine was shipped.

  • anybody have any updates to their shipping?

    • No, nothing.

  • +1

No update, lately purchase from Aliexpress also slow over a month now. I got one before only took three weeks.

  • +1

50 days - no light. Someone must be swimming over with these from Shenzhen.

    • yeah prob. due to darkness they cant find how to ship it

      • they could use the light? but yeh this is painfully slow

    • +1

Ordered something from Aliexpress on 10 and 20 May still waiting.

Ordered something before from Aliexpress on 22April and received in three weeks.

I think they are from ship may be they are on this cargo ship

      https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-27/ship-loses-containers…

      • One from Aliexpress arrived.

        • and yet we haven't seen the light at the end of the delivery postman

  • Not quite 50 business days yet, just got to be more patient is all.

  • Anyone has any update on the shipping? Still waiting.

    • +2
