  • Good phone from a good company for a good price. I've had one for a few months now, and I've been very happy with it. Just one note of caution: A lot of sites, including some of Samsung's own(!) say that this phone supports Flash; it doesn't. There are rumours that an upcoming update will add Flash support, but frankly I wouldn't count on it.

  • Would be great only if it had atleast 3.5 inch screen

  • Seems okay, the Liquid Metal is a much better phone though.

    • You do have to go through the trouble of flashing it's ROM though, which voids it's warranty.

      • Wouldn't it be nice if uniquemobile offers a similiar deal for Liquid MT and make it unlocked? The gingerbread ROMs for Liquid MT seem nicer than the stock froyo - I wondered if people would upgrade had the phone is unlocked.

  • It's really good phone but no flash light makes it bit umno!

  • This or the LG Optimus One?

  • The more I look at the low-end Android devices, the more I wish we had phones with the price and performance of the ZTE blade/Orange San Francisco ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZTE_Blade ). That phone was released for 99 pounds (was approx AUD$150 until recently) PAYG around 1 year ago in the UK & Europe. That had a 3.5-inch 480 x 800 screen, and native support in cyanogenmod ( http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices/zte-blade ). If you got one of the Optus Mytabs, it's supposed to be similar internally, but in a phone form factor & battery, and probably better camera. Why can't we get phones that good here at that type of price level?

    • We can - it is the Telstra Liquid Metal sold by JB Hi-Fi for $128. It has capacitive touch screen and Adreno 205. It is 480x800. The main catch is it is locked to Telstra and to unlock it for free will require a fair bit of firmware upgrade (to Gingerbread).

A guy charges $28 to unlock Liquid MT (without firmware change), but dunno how he does it / whether it works or not.

      • Hardware wise this is no where as good but a decent fone if you use Optus and virgin alike. The liquid metal is more suitable for the Telstra and new Vodafail network on 850Mhz.
Hmmm, just bought liquid metal but not so sure now if I am game enough to upgrade, it seems harder by the minute.
Nestsurfer, Do you have contact details of any person or the 'guy' who can unlocks it. I might just leave it to the experts instead of bricking it.

  • yay, another Samsung 'bargain' :(.

i wish this website would ban the daily samsung deals, they are getting tiresome.
