  • It's $40 at BWS, so it's hardly half price…

  • if you like Stella and want to try something a bit better, you can get 2 six packs of Matilda Bay Big Helga for around $16-$17…. http://twitpic.com/6e69e9 until Friday…

But that works out to be $2-$4 more expensive for like quantities!

      Bad OzBargain! tsk tsk

      • for like quantities

        craft beer ≠ commercial swill

i know which one i'd prefer to drink…

What crazy world are you living in?! Matilda Bay hasn't been brewed by anything close to a "boutique" brewery for years! Foster's closed their Perth brewery in '07 and it's all been made by Cascade since then…

          Craft beer my ass.

"In Big Helga, first launched on draught in October last year, Foster’s craft brewing arm has taken an interesting route."

          Sigh..

You know that Foster's (before being bought out by SABMiller recently) own Cascade? And the Cascade Brewery is in Tasmania, but owned by Foster's?

For all you know they could be putting Stella in a bottle with a different label and flogging it off for extra bucks.

But I like how you counter my argument that Matilda Bay is a craft beer by mentioning that it's being made by Foster's, thanks - that's my first laugh for today!

        • -1

          who owns it is irrelevant…

Matilda bay sells along all the other craft beers in the stores that sell it…

  • is this actual stella or local stella?

    • From GWS direct - no idea.

From Dan's - usually local Stella, very rarely you'll get an 'import' case. Depends on stock from supplier I'd imagine.

    • Probably actual Stella at GWS, but not sure about Dan Murphy's or First Choice for price match purposes.

      • hmmmm…..might give em a buzz - much prefer the import stuff

        • much prefer the import stuff

Would that be the Welsh, Brazilian, Ukranian or Hungarian versions?

        • I'm partial to a Stella with a Brazillian ;)

  • as getwinesdirect is based in Victoria, will they price match this at a Dan Murphy's or 1st Choice liquor store in NSW?

    • probably not… title should say [VIC only]
