    I just need a switch..

    • Psh, you don't need no silly switch. Just youtube "danicng tutorials" (free unlike JD unlimited)

      • Or just YouTube Just dance <insert song name>, and the kids dance along none the wiser…

  • Anyone owns this, what/how many songs come with it? How much is it to buy songs?

    • +2

Not many songs from what I can remember, but there is a 30 day free trial to get all the songs if you link an ubisoft account.

      • does nintendo online subscription give you more songs?

        • +3

Nope, Just Dance Unlimited is it's own subscription.

@voxard: I own Just Dance 2017 and 2018. There are slight differences between the version, and they come with around 40 songs each.
They both came with a 3 months subscription to Just Dance Unlimited, which allows you to use the entire Just Dance catalogue. Can’t remember the subscription price, but I thought it was around 14.99 for the year.

42 songs in the base game and another 10 exclusive songs (2 of them are coming later on in May) for JD2020 owners if you sub to JD Unlimited for a total of 52

    • 40 songs + unlimited (access to 500) for a month

So many times ive beem tempted to get the subscription. Once you get over your self consciousness its actually a pretty great experience

  • Paid less than this last time, it's actually quite a fun game.

  • 2 month premium at the moment

The sound snippets in the demo let you preview the included non-subscription songs. TBH they did nothing for me.

  • How to play Just Mario in 2020? I want Just Mario but can't find it.

    • They had a Nintendo and jpop version of just dance for wii for japan

    Doing the horizontal dance? Hehe

Kids love this too, has the baby shark song, hours of entertainment for them.

  • Needs a dance mat?

    • Nope, just 1 Joycon per player.

    • From previous version demo, you could use a smartphone instead of a joycon for it to capture movement. Not sure if they brought it over to the new version.

      • you can also use smartphone in this version.

  • Thanks for this OP, kids were asking about this game the other day but I wasn't going to pay $70 for it!

  • Just make sure you factor in the unlimited subscription cost as without it… it's not that great IMO. However, once you have the unlimited subscription, it adds a lot of fun!

  • Amazing fun (and competition) with a group this game

One thing I noticed about this game is that I guess the capability to measure dance move accuracy is not there so you can literally just wave the joycon around and get points.
Not saying that it's a bad thing if you like dancing but it kind of takes the competitiveness out of it.
I recall the now outdated and unsupported Kinect on Xbox being better for that kind of stuff.

If you have the option the Xbox One with Kinect is the best way to play it, followed by the PS4 with the Playstation Camera which is a less accurate version of Kinect. The Switch is probaly my least recommended version of the game due to only having Joycon and Mobile only support. Once you go with a camera method with Just Dance you never want to go back. The Joycons/Mobile control methods are way more forgiving as you can fake certain moves. Kinect is harder but way more rewarding as it will pick up your exact moves (so no lazy moves allowed!)

I think Covid has made Xbox One Kinects more expensive, i was able to pick up up for like $65. Now they are like 100 + you need the adaptor kit if you have a Xbox One X.

      • It's a shame they killed it off. I remember going to some game con in Melbourne when it was being released and it drew massive crowds.
I used to play it with my housemates and we had a blast.

      • Can confirm. Switch version is very inaccurate. Avoid if you want competitive play but to me this is a just for fun game so it's OK. You can literally forget the rest of your body and just use 1 arm (the one holding the controller) and get a high score.

True that it is not that accurate but that means my toddler kids can still play and feel good when they get 3 stars at the end :)

If you want to put in more effort (say for a mini workout) then the option is always there…. as long as you close your blinds.

  • Anyone know how long this will be on sale for? Can't seem to find a sale period or "sale ends" time/date anywhere

    • It says 17th June

      • Thanks @droodle

  • Does unlimited subscription ever have a sale or cd key to make it cheaper or is it the same price all the time?

Switch is $37.95 per year…..I think.
