Not sure if this is a bargain, but I've seen 2nd hand ones more expensive than this.

Good for travel or as a compact camera with 4k video and decent image stabilisation. No viewfinder tho.

  • compared to Panasonic Lumix G7 what do yall reckon?

    • +3

G7 has more controls, better handling, a better fully articulating screen and an electronic viewfinder

E-PL7 has sensor shift image stabilization

I don't know what price the G7 is but it seems like a better camera overall

      • G7 has a fatal problem with its shutter shock which is not correctable with software update. The shutter was redesigned after that and you can really see the difference on the GX85 and G85.

  • no viewfinder at that price is a bit of a dealbreaker imo

Would my Google Pixel 4 have a better camera then this? Tnx.

    • Yes, but only if you use the flash.

    • very unlikely

If you only want out of camera photo to be uploaded to internet I would say don't bother the Olympus. The advantage of m43 is some good lenses support (not including the kit lens in this deal), raw for post processing, better stabilisation and focusing, and much better low light performance. The pixel however, has much better in body processing which produces decent straight out of camera pictures for quite a lot of occasions.

    • A phone camera generally works fine in sufficient light, and the Pixel’s night sight is great too, but sometimes you can’t get around the need for a flash. in my experience this particular camera has a decent fill flash that can also be used as a bounce flash (if you hold it back).
