I misplaced mmy old ps3 which i used to play BR and DVD discs from outside region. Looking for a new player and if possible including 4k (though these are all local region). Has anyone managed to get a current panasonicplayer updated at the panasonic service centre recently? BP 150/420/820? I have seen it mentioned but hoping maybe someone here has had success.

Thanks for that. If i cant confirm the service centre updating on panasonic i'll probably have to go down the laser route. I did see some complaints about issues with BR discs though.
How do you misplace a PS3? It's not a set of car keys.
That's my kind way of saying my eldest took it to his place.
The Laser BD3000 region free blu ray player I've been using for a few years has been solid but doesn't have 4K, can usually find it cheap <$100 around Big W or Officeworks
