590

c&c doesn't look to have any stock, try calling or add $75 for delivery

55"

May want to compare to the 2020 models first, seems like a good price considering the 65" C9 ranged between $2600-$3200 most of 2019, never saw the E9 at low $3k's, if you can find some discounted gift cards make it better

LG website link

can try & match elsewhere if you can find stock, david jones - not sure if any available

Any TV buffs care to give us the quick rundown on 2020 LG models?

    • +1

The CX has better built-in speakers and the black frame insertion works at 120Hz but drops support for DTX and the HDMI ports are only 40Gbps.

      • HDMI ports are 40GBPS in this or CX? Whats the speed on these?

        • +1

Not sure on CX, but the C9 gets a full array of full speed hdmi ports. The video I watched indicated that the CX didnt get that on all of its ports

          • @Intoxicoligist: As I understand it the CX has HDMI 2.1 on all ports but only 40GBit/s (not 48GBit/s to be 100% compatable with the spec. However the TV is only capable of driving 4k/120Hz and 40GBit is sufficient - so the extra bandwidth would go to waste anyway.

            • @get-innocuous: Yep, thats what I've heard. The issue is full spec compatibality. Who knows how it will play with the Nvidia 3000 series or the new xbox/ps5 without the full spec. The whole reason I got a c9 was for 4k120hz with no compromises :p Now I just need graphics cards to catch up with the TV :P

              • +1

@Intoxicoligist: Yeah hopefully it is properly implemented on the CX but it's good to have the full spec. Just picked up one of these E9s so I'm sorted regardless :D

    • Almost identical to last years models.

      • It seems like that across the board with many other brands too.

  • I wonder if it is worth waiting for the BX9 to drop to this level.

    • Do you mean the BX or the B9..? Finding stock for the B9 is virtually impossible at the moment, most units have been sold. But yeah if you meant BX, there'll be some good deals coming up soon hopefully.

      • +1

The BX9 is this year's bottom model. But NVM, I ordered this E9 :)

        • I think you may mean BX, but yeah, good choice getting the E9 anyway :)

  • E9 is picture on glass ??

tempted to buy these as C9 is outofstock/discontinued?

    • already outofstock in BNE metro for delivery

  • +1

Killer deal. I got C9 for this price..

  • E9 cheaper than the C9? WTF is going on with TV prices?

    • Coronavirus? Businesses needing to get rid of stock so they can generate revenue?

      • +1

If there's one thing people have not had trouble selling during the period of isolation, it's tv's…..

        • +4

Are you sure? We are in need of an upgrade (got a 46" Sony Bravia from 2009) and both my partner and I are working, well ahead of our mortgage repayments etc yet I still am holding on to my money and not making any unnecessary large expenditures (such as an OLED TV) to play it safe. Im quite sure Im not the only one either.

          • +1

@Trishool: I read once that "expensive things are most easily sold to those who can least afford them". Sadly, this is true, and many people take advantage of this, getting people into debt.

I'm like you - very careful. But when I buy stuff, I buy good stuff, on special. The tv I am replacing is also from 2009 (plasma).

          • @Trishool: Exactly the same 2009 Sony Bravia LCD with pandemic and kids around hard to spend on new item like this. I wish I can get it but money should not be spent like this at this time

        • +1

That and getting stock is hard, so it compounds it

  • +1

55E9 doesn’t appear to be in stock anywhere in Melbourne.

    • Add delivery $75

      • Stock levels too low and won’t permit delivery to my address.

        • looks like it was very limited stock

  • +1

Thanks heaps OP! Had been kicking myself that I missed out on all the deals for last year's models, and current year's models are still so expensive. Let's hope the order goes through.

    • no worries, enjoy.. looking at the compare c9/e9 seems a very good upgrade.. well if the order goes through lol

  • +2

EFOY isn't far off, let's hope my patience against temptation will pay off

    • +2

Wait till after EOFY and get yourself a demo model. I got the OLED65E8 for $1888 in JBs and when got watching football I noticed some burn in so called LG and they replaced the screen under warranty questions asked. Unfortunately they had a screen in stock otherwise I would have gotten a brand new E9.

      • Thanks for the tip, finger crossed i find a demo not too expensive

      • +1

That sounds more like stuffing around and to avoid a demo. !?

        • If stuffing around is saving thousands for 45mins of my life ill take it every time. I was on the phone to lg for 5mins, sent a video of the burn in and replied to an email to say what time and date for them to come and fit the new screen. They were gone in half an hour from memory. It's OzBargain after all.

          • @Thetoe1: Is LG difficult with activating the warranty with a display model or do you do it as a new unit?

I might have found something interesting as floor model but nothing as good as your model, just worried that I'll be left with a burn in screen

            • @Bubbleshark: Honestly they were great. I also had another issue with the tv turning off and we tried everytging with the tv so they sent contractors out to have a look and they noticed I had a Nvidia Sheild connected and as I was using my LG remote to control it it was some how turning the tv off with it.fixed the problem and they didn't charge me even though it wasn't really an issue with the tv.
Youll see on American based Forums that demo models don't come with a warranty but in Australia they do. Hope that helps.

              • @Thetoe1: Thank you for your insight, actually I would probably try to get an extended warranty through Myer.

I found a 55 c9 for 1800 on clearance on display, minus a friend’s staff discount who works there, minus my racq egift card of 6%. It brings it to $1520, which isn’t as a good of a deal as your larger and higher end model but I doubt I’d find anything similarly priced. I was really concerned about throwing quite a sum with only a limited life expectancy as a display model would have many hours of powered on time

                • @Bubbleshark: If ur worried and not in a hurry wait till EOFY to see what the deals are for new ones and then after for the demo but that deal is still very good. I thought it was worth it but the sales assistant reassured me that I had a warranty.

                  • +1

@Thetoe1: I think I will go with the one I found rather than wait, it’s out of stock in a lot of places and restocking from china is a bit of a gamble. I hate to pull too early as I might find a cheaper price later … happened so many times on ozbargain

                  • @Thetoe1: I bought the display model and I couldn't really test it in store as they had no internet nor tuner. Installed it at home and have some visible burn in.

How would you go about it? Would you tell LG you bought a demo?

                    • @Bubbleshark: Yes tell them, call them and they will just ask to do a test and send a photo. By law they have to give you a warranty same as a new tv.

                      • @Thetoe1: I called them on Monday, they just called me back and told me they can't assist and I have to go see my vendor because it's a display model.

                        • @Bubbleshark: i got onto jbs and they told me its under warranty can't remember if i had to call them or jus did the first time. if any problem get onto ACCC.

                          • @Thetoe1: I actually called the accc, they told me there is nothing that can be done if the manufacturer is refusing to do anything, just have to take it back to the retailer and get a refund. My tv also has a screen time of 8600 hours, maybe that played into the equation

                            • @Bubbleshark: Mine had a high number of hours too. Maybe its different from different retailers but I was covered with a warranty when i bought it, I made sure to ask JBs. Hope you get it sorted.

                              • +1

@Thetoe1: Myer won’t mind to refund me, it’s just LG refusing to do anything about the warranty that is a bit disappointing, even if i bought it last week. Anyway, thank you for the tips, let’s hope some good oled deals will drop sometimes soon … sad to go back to my old tv for now

  • +1

If anyone's after a top of the range OLED TV jump on this ASAP!

  • None of those in stock for either CC or delivery to BNE

    • see if you can find stock at david jones & price match it

  • Hey all. I have an LG 55EC9300. Few years old and had faulty display changed over a few years ago. Have it connected to a fetch mighty and sound at.
What are the major things that I will actually notice? Is ultra HD/4K going to be that much of a step up??

  • +2

Out of stock now :( good deal for those who got it

  • Man you gotta be bloody quick when these suckers go on special

  • +10

I'm glad I got a notification on my phone to tell me I missed out on this deal….

  • oh, I have 1 in my bag I will delete it maybe it will become avail. better be ready whoever wants it.

  • +1

    Good deal! Well done OP!

My 2015 Sony just died.. looking to buy a new one. These were way outside my budget anyway. Hope there will be deals for the cheaper models..

    • Which model? I upgraded a couple 8500Cs recently to the X95G…. Very nice improvement

      • What did you do with the old ones?

        • +1

Sold. Actually just put them up as an EOI and got an offer better than I expected for the first within an hour. Figured oh well… Off it goes

  • Damn would have bought

  • +1

Thanks op, took ages but got a confirmation for a 55"

  • +2

I bought the 65 inch CX from Good Guys for 3350 delivered last week (3650 - 300 cash back). Guess that is better than 2019 E9

    • Probably much of a muchness, I mean E series is a more premium line, probably comes down to which you prefer the look of.

      • True. I didn't have the option of choosing last week as this deal wasn't there :)

    • Hi 79gem,

This is a good deal. The CX is still at $4,500, how did you get to 3650? And how is the mechanic for the Cash Back?

      Thanks a lot,

I have been looking for a 65 Oled for a bit of time now, I was on that deal early afternoon, started to check out, then had to have a few vc meeting for work, trying to finalise at 4pm, all gone… I am quite gutted here…

Still in my cart, but does not allow me to do anything.

      Thanks for your help,

    • Oh yeah, I can see the cash back now, from 4495 to 3650 is quite good. Did you go in store? Would you be able to share the receipt? Thanks,

      • +2

$3650 with cash back is a bloody good price. Did you have to negotiate hard?

        • +1

No wasn't too bad. U negotiated on phone and just went there to pay. I can give the invoice copy if anyone wants or if you call the same sales person then should be easy

          • @79gem: Typo :). I mean I just negotiated on phone

            • @79gem: Hi 79gem,

Thanks for responding. Sending you a pm for the invoice.

Where did you buy it from?

I will give it a go tomorrow, so I can get it out my brain.

              Thanks,

              Ben

              • @Ederlezi: Can't seem to be able to pm you.

                • @Ederlezi: I just sent u a message. See if u get it

                  • @79gem: @79gem trying to PM you too for the same thing if possible!

                  • @79gem: Hi 79gem,

                    Thanks for your help.

I don't know how you managed to get it for 3600 and payback on top.

I have been calling a few good guys this morning, and no one lands anywhere near. :-(

    • Hi there - I’d love a copy of your receipt, if you’d be willing share it, as I’m after one of these too.

    • How did you get the 65 cx for so cheap?

    • can I get a pm of the reciept as well my store is only doing 4100

      cheers

      • Sure. Sending u the invoice via PM. For some reason ozbargain have limit 5 comments a day for new users so i was waiting for time to allow me to send new messages. 4100 is way too expensive. Someone here posted invoice of Jbhifi from 2 weeks ago for 3750 delivered and I assumed that to be benchmark to negotiate better price than that and Good Guys with 3650 delivered plus 300 pay back turned it to be winner.

I bought from Good Guys Essendon so try calling the same store if easier.

      • here is the copy of the invoice guys.

    Sad to have missed this.

Hey OP, I owe you my firstborn.

Was OOS online, but I called around to check my local stores. Myer Carousel (WA) still has one. Since that's a bit far away from me and I couldn't get to it after work before closing hours, I tried calling around for other stores to price match.

David Jones Hay Street has one and I was able to snag it for $3200.

So thanks a ton OP. Been hunting for the C9 65" for a long time but this one turned out better.

To everyone in WA who was hoping to get one, call Myer Carousel. They should still have one since I didn't claim it, but I don't expect it to stay there for long.

    • +1

thats awesome, just message when you have your firstborn & ill come & pick it up lol

    • Can you please share a receipt? Gonna try it tomorrow with David Jones.

      • They only did that price for me because a Myer store had stock. Call around for Myer stores around you if they have any E9s left, and if they do, buy them.

But yeah I'll share a receipt since I owe it to ozbargain.

  • The turd at chatswood, cbf checking if other stores has any.

anyone manaage to find one in sydney? i know it's all gone now, but curious to know if it ever exists.

    Thanks

  • +1

I just picked up a 65" BX for $3088 with a discount and cash back (eftpos card) at the good guys. Discount was from 3995 to 3288 and then $200 cash back via redemption. Could've had the CX for $300 more but couldn't justify the difference in spec.

    • Are the speakers good enough on the CX to not need a soundbar? That's how I might try to justify it heh…

    • Which store?

      • +1

        Campbelltown

    • Hi Yets150,

      What store was it?

      Thanks,

      Ben

      • Campbelltown mate

  • C9 was really 2600? Damn. Hope the CX comes down that low in a few momnths…

    • Stocks are low everywhere… good luck

  • Does anyone have a 55inch receipt? Will anywhere price match?

    • I've tried price matching with DJ and they're good as long as Myer has stock.

The tricky thing is not the price matching but the availability of E9 itself.
