Qantas Points Club Lounge Pass - Qantas Booked Flights Operated by Other Airlines?

Hi,

Situation below. Apologies if a silly question as i cannot find a clear answer.

  • Looking at flight redemption using classic flight rewards from qantas website (have not booked)
  • am eligible for qantas points club therefore will have access to lounge using the complementary lounge invitation

  • departure is economy on a qantas then british airways to london

  • return is business class cathay pacific

Now, qantas site mentions lounge passes can only be redeemed on QF flights i believe. Does that mean when flying on flights not operated by qantas despite booking through qantas means i wont be eligible to use the lOunge passes?

Theres no indication in the booking that its a codeshare flight, just says its operated by a different airline

Let me know, thx

  • Not an answer to your question but did you not consider booking business both ways? When I’ve looked at this redemption the difference was not a lot of points - I think 70k or so?

    • Hey, yeah i have as i do have enough points but the dates i were looking at had no more business seats available.
Looking at the peak dec 15 - jan 5 period.
Thats if, theres no quarantine in london by then…

Is the flight number QF or BA?

Usually, the flight number needs to be QF for the lounge invitation to be used. Also, can only be used for Qantas Club lounges; so can't be used on other One World lounges.

    • Yeah looking like its BA and CX, so guess not.
      Cheers for this.

  • Lounges are closed in Australia at the moment. Just an FYI.

I don't think the OP is going to London any time soon …

Yes you will have access if you booked thru qantas, as it’s a qantas flight, operated by BA.
The risk would be the flights not going ahead or BA being bankrupt by then.

    • Hmm this seems to be opposing comment above.
Even if not a QF flight?
