Also 20% at JB Hifi but prices have not been updated…

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/

    Edit. Prices have been updated.

  • Shame the Surface Book 3 or Go 2 are not included

    • barely a month after release, wont be reduced this quickly

  • Last month during equivalent sale, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Microsoft all had the same pricing.

    1. Might anyone know if there is still wiggle room if we go into the store to ask for a better price?

    2. Or better to rely on Microsoft cashback?

    3. Surface Pro X 8GB + type cover + pen. Buy together or separate?

    4. Does Microsoft's return policy re: device's suitability also apply in-store? (i.e. JB, HN)

    • +1

Not really, I have returned within 14 days before at JB HiFi after quoting it but there is no obligation if you purchase in retail store. Microsoft site also states that they have a 60 day return policy on Surface devices at the moment if purchased using Microsoft online.

Extended return offer period available with Surface devices purchased from Microsoft Store online in selected markets between 6th May, 2020 and 30th June, 2020. The return process must be started within 60 days of the customer receiving the device. Not available for purchases by reseller customers. Extended return offer period limited to 5 device returns total per eligible customer. Excludes Surface Hub. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Microsoft reserves the right to modify or discontinue offers at any time.

      • Even Microsoft online store has same price. For example Surface Laptop 3 for $1359, also you get 1.5% additional cashrewards cashback.

  • Not bad, but agree it's a shame there is no discount on the Surface Go 2 range.

  • FYI it seems accessories are not included

  • For the accessories, check to see if you qualify for education pricing via the microsoft store :)

    Seriously overpriced product.

I was looking at all the 512 models. Cheapest is 2.5K. That is XPS price for a i7,16,512 model, and one with same spec can be have for 1.5K. Don't understand why people still think its a good deal……

Honestly thought the same until I bought one.

If portability isn’t important to you, or you’re a serious gamer, then don’t get one. Otherwise it’s definitely the best windows laptop/all in one you’re going to get

      • The Acer Swift 5 16GB / 512 version is under 1.5K in Harvey and weights less than 1KG. How more portability you want to get? As for serious gamer, you will be better off with the new XPS17 that only cost a few hundred bugs more.

My parents Surface has to go back three times and I heard i may have the forth time coming up. See how I have no faith with Surface…..

        • Yeah the Surface Pro was crap until v5, when they removed the fans from most models (and got the temp management/board design right). Definitely recommend giving the newer models another go.

Acer Swift 5 weights less than 1KG

Surface pro is 700-800 grams, so yeah its more portable I guess haha

Also vs the Acer model, I really like how direct from manufacturer means no bloatware, tack on drivers/hardware manager utilities etc - hardware/OS synergy makes the Surface fly in daily use. Can't say the same for other laptops I use regularly with work (HP, Dell, Lenovo - thought admittedly not Acer)

Only thing I really don't like is that the alcantara gets dirty af, so don't be tempted to buy a light colour

1K extra to save 300g in your bag? No thanks, I will keep the cash.

    • Fair enough. But 20-30% lighter is not insignificant. Also the Acer model you’re comparing the surface with has a FHD screen. You’re also going to get better battery out of a Surface.

No one is arguing there are cheaper laptops out there - not exactly comparable to that Acer
