Mod: Likely price error, order with caution.

Wonder if that's going to be enough….

Surprised this is still going, seems to have descended into nothing more than a thinly veiled malicious attempt by the Oz baa baargain flock to interfere with trading operations of a legitimate business.

  • +1

Wow 35,000+ clicks now. Don't think I have ever seen so many on a deal.

    • +3

      That's a lot of clocks

  • +5

As others have mentioned, this will be a waste of time for both the staff and people who try to order it.

    • +15

I see it differently. With the current climate, as Ozbargainers we got to create a job so that people don't get made redundant.
      There is 2 outcomes here:
      1. You keep the person who is sending out the orders employed
      2. You keep the person who is cancelling the orders employed

  • +7

The worst of Ozbargain on display. Poor form on the OP. Worst is all those who played…as from the post above, business could lose money with Paypal fees.

    • +1

Someone has said there are no Paypal fees on returns. Also wouldn't make sense. The worst part is when people whinge about not getting the goods and talk about consumer affairs and ACCC etc when it's obviously a simple error. I'm happy for whoever has not made an error in their lives to get this for $50. Like no-one.

      • +1

Depends on the retribution you get from all those customers. Especially if they all paid by Paypal. If all of them open a Paypal Dispute case, it would likely cause an account restriction, such as you can receive money but won't let you withdraw it out. Or even account suspension until it is all sorted.

      • +1

PayPal don't refund the fees anymore, comes out of seller's pocket.

  • +3

    10% purchase rate =3600 sales
2 minutes to process and refund each order =7200 minutes
    7200 minutes =120hrs

I hope they have a way to mass cancel. If they have a 38hr work week that’s equivalent to a single staff member working exclusively on this for over 3 weeks and that’s if they can sort each order in 2 minutes.

    • +1

Chances are most of the visits were for curiosity sake like my click was. Doubt 10% actually bought (or for the sake of normal sanity hope they didn't)!

Very good point though and thats basing on each refund only taking 2mins which would be quick. Feel sorry for them. They didn't deserve a massive headache over a single error (assuming that's all it was). Bad start to the week for them indeed. Here is hoping that they are not on skeleton staff (which they probably are)?

  • +3

I am just shocked by its RRP. How is it worth over 4k?

    • -8

I'll be honest - I purchased twice, simply based on RRP and work required to cancel…. RRP is disgustingly overpriced…. I may have to wait for a refund but it's worth is in giving the thumbs down if that's how it turns out….Anyone supporting heavy profiteering deserves it…

      • Its a commercial quality item, it isn't intended for home use. They are made to be able to be used all day every day. The RRP like all RRP is a little high but not obscenely so.

    • Prob cause they deal with b2b, i know a few middlemen sell at high prices to businesses and businesses can claim tax on it?

    • +5

Robo coup is a high end professional kitchen equipment manufacturer. That 13.5kg weight represents the size of the motor in this thing (about 8kg!) These babies are worth a hundred of those $50 food processors (power, torque, durability) you can get from Kmart, and that's just for the entry level models. This one here is special. It's a thermomix on steroids.

  • 4.9% cashback on Shopback now, higher than Cashrewards!

  • -2

After order it said "you will receive confirmation email soon" but after 8 hours still no email received,
i got my order number and paypal trasaction id
is someone in same boat like me?

  • +1

I've been a Nisbets customer before (as a business). They automatically sign you up to their physical catalogue mailing list and you get promotional material from time to time. They also call you to check up and see if you need anything. I believe you have to call or email to get taken off.

Enjoy your cancelled orders and just like Escobar, hope you enjoy the magazine!

    • 5,000 magazines ok 👍

  • +8

Price is now 3999.90 or lease from 50.77 per week

    • +1

early start to the week @ nisbets…this is gonna be fun! 😃😃😃

    • Just imagine the shock when they look at the the number of orders and then the price. Good start of the day!

    • -1

Hope they don’t think all these orders are for rent

  • +2

Here we go.. Happy Monday! A few hours left until we get those transaction declined emails! Not gonna lie, still hoping my order goes through! Lol

  • +5

I just received my confirmation email.

I hope I receive this cooking robot. Sounds like living in the future.

    • How much is the shipping?

  • +2

    <action> reaches for popcorn

  • +8

    Item removed from their site.
An employee At Nisbets must have just spat out their coffee.

    • +1

How dare people buy stuff on a website! The nerve!!!

  • +3

    Just received confirmation email lol
Considering we didn't get it until Monday after 9am, safe to say this was manually pushed… Hopes are getting high….

  • +1

Good morning guys! :) is our popcorn ready?

  • +3

    Dont think it cooks popcorn

  • +2

    Also just received confirmation.

    • How much is the shipping?

    • Is that just the 'Thank you for your order' email or something new?
I got the initial one yesterday after placing it, but nothing else so far

  • -1

Not all price errors have been publicised like the Bunning drone deal and attacked to death by the Ozb community.
Sure favourite is refund but 100’s of items have been sold at the error price and delivered.
So those whining about people having a crack for glory my advice is better for you goody goodies and more constructive to find another dollar on your tax returns than wasting time on this terrible thread .

    • I missed this, anyone have a link to it? Want to see what happened.

  • +2

Actually the thing none of the Goodies have bothered mentioning is the millions of dollars on price errors going the normal way of the merchants favor and not being picked up !

  • +6

Honestly I ordered before seeing the comments regarding how cruel it is for the staff who will have to process the refunds. Checking back here for updates now daily. I don't mind being punished for delayed refunds, a lesson well learnt. Since there is 0.1% chance of this being honored, it was colossal waste of time for everyone involved.

    • +3

You're optimistic. Chance of this being honored would be 0, nil, zero, naught

      • I wouldn't say it's exactly 0. Looking at past pricing error deals, some have been honoured and/or gift cards/vouchers/credits have been issued. While it's very unlikely this deal won't be honoured, it is still quite possible in some form.

        • Quoting history doesn’t mean much. Its mutual exclusive.

    • It took 2 minutes. Despite this immense loss of time, life will go on.

  • +4

    Wow, that was fast!

I received mine this morning - for those that are curious I'll be making Popplers with Neptunian Slugs!

    • +9

      "I don't believe you" - Ron Burgundy

    • +2

      Haha good luck with that

      • +3

        Thanks for your support

  • +2

id love to know how many orders they actually received.

    • +2

Most likely everyone should get an email update with an apology note and $250 voucher /s

      • +2

Nothing yet. Must still be in their holy cr@p meeting.

        • Unfortunately they are down a staff member. Cindy called in sick today to get her nails done. They can't proceed as she also takes the minutes in the meetings.

She is also responsible for refunds and her new nails will slow her efficiency by at least 75%.

  • +3

Remember folks, get really angry and demand free stuff when this one doesn't go through. It's the new Ozbargain way.

    • +2

Yep - bring out them flames and pitchforks
      Go to ACCC and ACA
      Demand their firstborn

      • better go to bikies
        faster action and result

        • -1

          Or BLM rioters peaceful protesters

  • -3

Anyone else who ordered this before OP posted and is now super cranky with OP?

  • +1

What's the upadte on your order guys? Just wondering, if anyone's order got dispatched or shipped?

  • +1

I got a confirmation email too.
How long before a news site does a report on this?

    • +2

Daily Mail might pick it up if they see it on twitter or IG.

Depends if they can get a bikini photo into the story though.

      • ACA or Studio 10 will need a story.

  • 300+ transactions
460+ units ordered (hello ozbargain resellers!)

    -100% price error
-no orders will be fulfilled @ the incorrect price
    -no compensation
-dont hold your breath on a prompt refund

    • +2

      That's right you'll be too busy :-)

      • +9

100%…..Franco loves a Nisbet Robot Cook deal. The bloke has been checking his notifications every 5 min and responding to every comment. Seems unusually butthurt about anyone who bought a unit.

        • -4

….i had the option to buy like anyone. on moral principles i chose not to exploit an obvious price error….many objected to this deal. you just have to read thru the comments.

        • +1

"Seems unusually butthurt about anyone who bought a unit."

Seems to be the new Modokun (User 39176).

    • +4

No worries on no prompt refund :) Paypal Case if there is no call or comms from Nisbets.

    • +5

Franco….. How's that promotion looking from Nisbet corporate head office? The senior execs must be so impressed about how much passion you show for the product and their staff.

      • -2

…no im passionate about this site & community and think we should have legitimate deals posted here & not obvious exploitation & promotion of price errors

  • +5

I just spoke to Nesbets. As everyone expected it's a pricing mistake, no orders will be sent out. Life goes on. The postage on a 14kg item is probably around $50. I feel super sorry for Nesbet having to deal with all the refunds.

    • +2

      It's actually Nisbets…

    • +7

As i suspected, somebody in nisbets was probably feeling like they were gonna get made redundant, so they decided to make work for themselves :)

      • +1

        @Iplau
would rather take the redundancy than cock up so hard they terminate you instead

        • -5

i dont think theyre too phased about it to tell you the truth….
theyre just scratching their heads at all the crazy ozbargainers that actually tried ordering this for $50…and expected to get it.

          • +5

@franco cozzo: I think realistically no one expected to get it, but couldn't pass up the offer in case it happened to be legitimate.

How much of a dunce would you feel like if you were in the market for a food processor and you missed out on getting a $4k machine because you thought it was an error? Meanwhile the rest of ozbargain will be using theirs to mix there half price case on monster from amazon with 2 minute noodles.

            • -2

              @yobeets: …in what reality do you get a $4300 discount on a $4350 appliance?
              when has this ever happened?

            • +2

              @yobeets: Wait… monster is half price ?

          • @franco cozzo: They aren't too phased until the finance department wakes up one morning and says "OMG all our paypal funds have been frozen, all our money is no longer liquid, our account has been limited", when a large bunch of the ozbargain folks submits a Paypal Case.

            • -6

@lplau: …theyre a multinational commercial business…i imagine they have their procedures and are well versed with payment protocols of paypal

        • Potentially but nowadays with Fair Work they make it harder for employers to just simply fire somebody citing poor performance. There is heaps of guidelines and rules etc.

  • +1

I hope Nisbets did not have EDI all orders to its vendor automatically.

  • has anyone heard from Nisbetts today

  • Sooooo…
    When to expect cancellation email?

    • -1

theyve got 300+ orders to cancel…that will take time

      • -4

Won't take too much time if we all submit Paypal Cases, that will speed them up because they won't be able to withdraw any money from their corporate account. I'm gonna give them until tomorrow, if tomorrow there is no comms, i will be submitting my paypal case.

        • +2

Not sure you should be playing your consumer rights card so forthrightly. You knew the risks. You could have chosen the option to pay direct deposit and wait until they confirmed the order if it were to go through. Maybe that’d have reduced any chance of getting the goods, on the flip side you wouldn’t have been out of pocket. Swings and roundabouts. You got a roundabout. Now it’s time for you to be patient.

      • When was the last time you slept, or are you a robot too?

  • I legitmately I am looking forward to when I can knead some sour-dough for bread in one of these, should I be given the option to own one.

    • +4

You would want a stand mixer for that, not this food processor.

      • +2

        He was feeling sour already

  • Not holding my breath…but has a single person been contacted as of today?
