    Everyone seems to rave on about it, but here I am without the carpet head attachment and it seems to still work very well on my carpet. Am I missing out on something??

    I guess it depends on the surface of the carpet. Based on our experience: dirt stays on the surface of the flat surface carpets so can be vacuumed with normal head however dirt gets in and doesn't stay on top when carpet has fluffy surface which then will require carpet head for deep cleaning. particles get stuck otherwise. little brushes on the carpet head roller helps to move them to get closer to the surface.
