      SGS > iphone. Fact.

          In terms of raw power

          SGS>iphone4
S-AMOLED> retina display( in terms of contract and colour)
S-AMOLED< retina ( in terms of resolution)

Generally these are the main specs I'm concerned with, but then again I only compare android phones rather than with an iOS phone

        • Regarding "S-AMOLED> retina display( in terms of contract and colour)".

That point is rather subjective and there is no consensus regarding it. Some people love the S-AMOLED displays, others find the colours to be over saturated and unnatural and find more traditional LCDs more pleasing on the eye. Not saying the statement isn't true for you and many others, but it's not a hard fact.

        • sure enough I know quite a few iphone 4 users who find my s2 screen unnatural but you can't argue with infinite contrast ratio right. SAMOLED has the truest blacks anywhere

    meh, $590?
That dual core LG android phone was listed on here for around $350 recently.
Nexus Prime coming soon, iPhone 4S almost on sale.

    • Are you seriously comparing the Optimus 2X with the SGS2

      IPS LCD vs SAMOLED Plus
      512MB RAM vs 1GB
      1GHz dual core tegra 2 vs 1.2Ghz Exynos Mali-400

Not to mention thinner, lighter and with better dev support. Good deal for $350 but given the reviews SGS2 is much better

    • Was very tempted to get that LG Optimus 2X over the weekend… I wouldnt mind getting that LG if its $300 or cheaper. Any such bargain from Unique Mobile?

  • Just making a clarification is this the I9000 Super Amoled or I9003 S-LCD?

  • I will go for this phone if it is in 300 ( Vodafone sells nexus in 299). There are heaps of dual core smart phone coming to market. so pls make price more reasonable.

pretty crap deal - prefer the optimus 2x from hn (bought the optimus 2x to replace my galaxy s so yeah….)

    Nexus S is $279 here
    http://shop.vodafone.com.au/mobile-details/Nexus-S?pid=v:hme…
    Choose prepaid then Vodafone International

Not worth $365 IMO. As said by Space Ninja you can get a Nexus S for $280

Also you can get this phone cheaper used on eBay…

you can get a phone cheaper used on eBay? wow, no shit ;)

I know, but just saying that for $260 a used Galaxy S is a pretty decent deal for a mid-range android.

For people that aren't happy with the price there are better alternatives (Such as the Nexus S, a used GS (Apparently they go for $200+ on Overclockers AU forum) and some upcoming budget midrange android phones, for example the Huawei Honor

  • @uniquemobiles: On the Galaxy S2 ($590 deal), does the phone has any carrier bloatware (network software and such)?

    Thanks,
