I have the smaller one of these, no complaints

    • I bought the 145L version for $196 over a year ago, and it's been good for me also.

Damn i just bought the same size freezer for 350! (this weekend just gone) and that was a good price, (though it is the newer model as it seems its just been released - and with corona - they have probably sky rocketed) pretty massive though, not sure why youd need much bigger

Isn't this the one a current affair used as an example of price gouging during the pandemic. The company said it was not price gouging but the use of an alogarythm. Presumable embedded in the code #!%&price gouge the bastards@#÷×45. It went from $300 to $500 overnight.

      • appliances online prices fluctuate day to day, i was looking at their range and they dropped the price of an essato hybrid 200L freezer from 357 to 330, i was looking at the 150L non hybrid models at that price so i pulled the trigger, the next day they increased the price to 387, then a few days later at 357 and now it's 2 weeks later it's 430..

ANyone noticed all chest freezers are sold out?

    • Yes, I noticed the panic buying of these.
I am still waiting for my order of the Hisense 200L chest freezer from TGG to be delivered. They were all sold out in whole WA.

I am not sure when I am going to get this.

      • This is a lot later now, but they are no longer all sold out - but try to buy a stainless steel one, I dare ye :(

    • White goods in general are in short supply. Most retailers are struggling with stock.

    • kogan have some good offers at the moment, the killer is "shippingfree" coupon since they usually ask 50 - 70 for shipping… kogan prices are really competitive in this market with free shipping, they have a frost free standing model for low 300s

  • thanks op, am looking to buy a chest freezer. $1.70 per L of storage is still a little exxy compared to pre covid. but seems to be ok pricing for the current time.

I remember 300L freezers to be $3xx in the March TGG ebay 20% sale…how times have changed. At the time, I bought the Haier 200L version and its been great.

Hisense have a lower energy star (3.0 vs 3.5 star Haier) rating compared to Haier, but 1 yr longer warranty.

  • I have an upright freezer that also has manual defrost. It's a real annoyance. Next freezer for me will certainly be frost free!

I bought this one about 5 years ago, good model and plenty of space. Really no problems with the frosting etc too. Sold it at peak TP idiot buying time for $750 cash to someone who's wife was thinking the world was going to end… from what I understand these were on a two month plus back order. With delivery though this is a ripper deal!

  • Does not seem to post to Adelaide.

So looks like it is a Sydney only deal ?

  • Any recommendations on an upright freezer (with self-defrost)?

    • One thing to note about frost free freezers, use more electricity and temps are not as constant as these manual defrost freezers.

      • Yep. But also, don't need to be manually defrosted. ;)
