Telstra Plus: 25,000 Bonus Points with Direct Debit Setup

90

Check your email! Similar to the 50,000 bonus points deal from a few months ago. I received an email saying there is a 25,000 point bonus for setting up direct debit.

Before getting the idea to reactivate a deactivated direct debit, the terms and conditions say you cannot gain the bonus if you have already received a previous one.

"Telstra Plus Bonus Points:
Set it up today, and boost your Telstra Plus balance with 25,000 bonus points. Put them towards must-have devices, accessories and more. Offer valid for 30 days.

T&C: Telstra Plus Offer: The Telstra Plus offer is for invited customers only, and is only available to customers who have not previously received any offer or bonus for signing up for direct debit. This offer can also only be taken up once per customer. To take up the offer, you must have an active Telstra Plus membership, and set up Direct Debit within 30 days of receiving this message. The points will be added to your account and visible within 14 days of your first direct debit bill payment. If you cancel your direct debit arrangement within 90 days of registering, we may reverse these bonus points. The Plus points expire 3 years from earning."

I do wish you would consider others rather than just yourself…
It's a deal for those who haven't already received it.

I do wish you would consider others rather than just yourself…

I'm considering all the OzBargainers that have already switched to direct debit. They are being excluded.

It's a deal for those who haven't already received it.

        It's a different deal though.

Would be nice of them to be so generous to me after the 500 point "prize" I received Monday. Don't have direct debit set up and haven't received this now or in the previous campaign.

    • +3

I raise your 500 point prize with my 100 point "prize" ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • +1

They were generous to me, I was told I won a 500 point "prize" but they gave me 2000 instead?!

  • i got 10,250 points enought for nest mini but i want nest hub.

funny is i can only use 3,000 points plus some cash, or 17,000 and some cash.
why i cant use all of my points and top up with cash, i have no idea…

      They want your cash

  • Every time I go to leave Telstra, something pops up.
If I activate it today and have a bill due tomorrow will it be put on in the next 14 days? Or will I have to wait 44 days (ie next month's bill).

      • oh i got 10k from
        10000 boxing day offer

and then 500 from birthday thing

      • +1

Uncle Bertie isn't on that list

        • …lol…no I was talking about the previous direct debit set up.
Disappointed to miss the lotto though,Uncle Bertie would certainly of liked to be in the list.
I have been after a second Harmon Kardon 6. As they are an awesome sound and understand one can connect two at once ( but 2 × mono, not stereo )

    • Me too :)

  • Didn't get it last time as had already signed up to DD but since then have signed up second phone and account number (same name) so fingers crossed!

  • Man the previous 50k point offer was insane, I never got it but managed to get $600 credit out of it.

    • How did you manage that??

      • Persistence and a way with words.

    • I advised them I was promised my 50k points and there were notes in the account to prove it. They told me I was misled and I managed to get $2400 from them after I stated I was going to start litigation against them. Bear in mind I have two numbers with them though. That was a nice win!

      • Damn, that's a solid win indeed! Did you just threaten litigation or did you have a letterhead sent out?

        • just reasoned with them as i kept a log and contemporaneous notes of the time i've contacted Telstra, who I spoke with, what we discussed, as well as asking store staff during follow ups to place notes on my account.
obviously i had been misled by numerous staff members which leading them paying me the credit
apparently the department that place the reward points into your account don't have a way of manually putting the points in, which resorted to another department giving me phone credits

  • this offer was also going round the other month. I signed up 5 weeks ago and still no bonus points - spent the bonus on time chatting to the app support and final gave up and called as it was pathetic. Still nothing!

  • Yes! The 50K bonus points was ripper deal for just signing a direct debit, I signed for JBhifi $65/month for 1 year with $500 bonus. End up paying $280/year. With the bonus points I claimed X8 Google home nest worth $384 so the christmas present is sorted.

  • I got the email for this this morning, been trying it on and off on either my work PC, mobile and now my home PC and each time I try and click 'new credit card' under the 'How would you like to pay your direct debit?' and gives me this lovely, detailed fill error

Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred and we're not able to process your request at this time. Please try again later.

Guess I'll just keep trying, why is it always an issue with Telstra to do the most basic things?

    • I also get this!

      • I ended up fixing it later that night. I tried it again on my phone and seemed to take me to an 'updated' version of the site (you know how Telstra has the much more modern site then a random page will look like it's from 1995 etc) and was able to enter in my CC details.

        Got the points on Thursday.
