    wow! I can't believe that they are already going for $200. I think I'm going to wait until they release a 'lite' version, or something along those lines. The difference between the DS > DS Lite was huge, so I guess I'm hoping for the same thing.

        What's wrong with waiting two years? Personally, I still have quite a few DS games to get through. Plus, at the moment, there aren't really that many great 3DS games around. Once the inevitable redesign is released, I'll have burned through my backlog of DS games, and there should already be a decent sized library of great 3DS games to play.

        I don't desperately want one, and I'm pretty content with using my iPhone for some light gaming/time wasting. When the time comes, and if the price is right, then I'll get one.

      problem is the buzz in games is not as good as it was when ds lite was released..

      also 3d is not as pulling factor as when the touch screen came out..
      and ppl getting sick of the 3d etc or tired eyes etc..

      it does make this device less desirable..

      I think if they can get hacked with a flash cart, is when the demand would increase…

      also the lite version, I think would have dual analog stick..

    The mistake they made was not calling it the DS HD. Focusing on 3D was too much of a gimmick.

      hey that would be cool! But i guess, ipod 4th gen already kills comp with retina display and PSVita has HD screen for a reason.

      DS screen is preeeety bad. You can see the pixels…

    I bought this few months ago and I regret it. I mean because I bought the Australia version. There is a lot of disadvantages of buying the australia version of 3ds than the advantages. The only advantages are you can trade the games if you got bored and the game is available in stores across australia. However, the games RRP are more expensive than the US version. In http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-188-49-en.html, they sell the 3ds for USD 190 for the cosmo black and plus the games are cheaper and easy to be found coz play asia and ebay sell them. The only disadvantage of buying this 3ds version is you need to wait for the shipping of the console and the games and you can trade the game. In my case, the shipping time is not an issue coz I usually buy my 3ds games on ebay which sell it cheaper than here. Anyway, this is just my suggestion, it's up to you guys to buy the US or Aussie.

      I've read that it's region locked…is it for every game? Coz blurays seemed to be region locked at one point but most seem to play fine these days. Sorry for the noob question.

    ds are not natively region locked, it is up to the individual compaines to decide this.

    I have bought several gaems from play asia and amazon and not one has been region locked. Plus i have all of the backwards compatibility of the old DS games, just wish the ambassador program had some better titles so far

    Just picked one of these up :) although not advertised, Myer is still doing buy 1 get 1 free console games and accessories til the 18th. They'll scan up on the register.. but its the original price not the marked price…
