LED Downlights - Double Dimming System

So I'm looking at getting Zigbee powered LED downlights to connect to my hue bridges instead of the bunnings ones I've currently got which aren't smart or multicoloured.
These lights each have an inline dimmer and controller in the ceiling from the 240V plug to the light, which is great as that's how I want to dim it (Hue app etc). The potential problem is that there is already a Wall switch dimmer, that dims all four lights. So is it possible to have this wall switch dimmer AND four separate in line dimmers? Will there be issues with current etc?

Disclaimer: I would not touch the wall dimmer, perhaps sticky tape it in place to full power, so no I would not be looking at ever using the wall dimmer, it just exists there.

Thanks for any insight in advance.

    Possibly.

Depends on how the new dimmers determine the phase of the AC and if the existing dimmer allows passing through of the full AC including around the zero-crossing. No way to tell without measurements with a scope or just suck it and see.

I'd just remove (short out) the existing dimmer.

    • How do you short out a dimmer without an electrician?
