Does any one know if it still stacks if you buy a year of xbox live to get ultimate

    • +4

That deal is still on, but at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/xbox-game-pass-ultimate/cf… instead - looks like a strictly superior deal to the one the OP linked? If you click 'More' on that page it specifically says it will upgrade up to 3 years worth of xbox live

      • Thanks, updated.

      • +2

erm could you clarify how you can purchase 3 years worth of xbox live, how much it costs and how it converts to xbox game pass?

        • +1

Buy 3x 12 month prepaid Xbox Live cards. Redeem them to your account. Then upgrade your account to Ultimate for $1.

You can buy Xbox Live cards for $50-$80, depending on whether they're on sale.

          • @Timm: You can buy em from like Brazil for $40? 2s and I'll find the link from Flight Simulator…

            Edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/551679

            • @TogTogTogTog: Does this Brazil still work if we already had Ultimate in the past? I tried those 3 months trial last year. Any other options, if not?

              • @hanofee: Interested know about this question too if anyone have the answer.

Tried Ultimate before and have now expired. Wondering if I can get the Brazil method (buying Live gold with vpn etc) to work despite having ultimate previously?

          • @Timm: aren't Xbox live cards for Xbox live subscription? aren't they different to xbox game pass which is for Windows 10 PC?

      • Interested to find out more about this link your suggesting.

    • +1

Yes it stacks, but must have gold first added and once satisfied with the length cap of 35 months, add ultimate $1.

But this may change in the future if Microsofts satisfied with the outcome.

    • I just did.
Pre-requisite: account is clean. No on-going sub, never been n ultimate before

      1. Bought 3 x 12 months BRAZIL Xbox Live Gold here for $37 each: https://www.electronicfirst.com/12-month-xbox-live-gold-memb…
EDITED: CD Keys are saling the XLG membership too
        https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/12-month-xbox-l…
      2. Use chrome free vpn extension to connect to brazil vpn:
        https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/free-vpn/jcbiifklm…
      3. Go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/ to redeem the code.
(My first one was not working. Says redeemed already. Contacted the CS of EF and sorted it out in 10 mins)
      4. Go back to spend $1 to get ultimate pass + 36 months stack on top

      total cost: $112

      • +2

I did this tonight too, but got my keys for $34ea from G2A here: https://www.g2a.com/en-au/xbox-live-gold-subscription-card-1…

      • Does this still work? I couldnt get the Brazil VPN connection to load pages, it was very slow and didnt seem to work :(

        • It is seriously slow and quite glitchy but I got there in the end with it

  • +1

Nice OP, resubbed because of this. Cheers

  • can i sub then cancel straight away?

or is it like apple and if you cancel you wont have the sub anymore?

    • Updated 'how to' in deal description.

    • Yes you can, just stop recurring payments in your account settings

  • +9

Just in time for Microsoft Flight Simulator… nice.

  • +2

$4.95 a month thereafter sounds pretty good too!

    • +4

Updated for Ultimate monthly price. But yeah, $4.95pm for PC only is pretty good.

      • Game pass for PC is great, for $4.95 after the promotion period during Beta is awesome.
Playing Gear Tactics alone already worth it.

    • +2

It's only that price while it's in beta and it's been in beta for a year now.

  • Ohh streets of rage 4 is included?

Does this work if I was previously subscribed? (AMD promo)

    • +3

Worked for me, as a previous subscriber. And Streets of Rage 4 is heaps of fun, well worth $1 :-)

  • You can cancel before the renew date and use it until expiry, then rebuy again with the $1 deal.

    • Pretty sure it won't work and will ask for $15.96 when you try to renew like the comments below yours suggests

      • Yeah I should've said on PC. Not sure what its like to be a console peasant. See comments above about resubscribing.

    • Lol. There is no such thing.

      • I'm lmfaoing @ ur life. Ive been doing this repeatedly for a few months on PC.

  • +1

    It’s $15.95 for me ;(

    • Yep me to.

    • +2

You can check Xbox Game Pass for PC (as opposed to ultimate) if you're just interested in the PC side not the Xbox side: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/xbox-game-pass-for-pc-beta…

For me that one is still $1 as well even though Ultimate is full price.

    • Are you currently on Ultimate? or have you previously had it?
Coz it says that for me (on ultimate) & i'm wondering if i can cancel my last month, buy 36 months Gold & upgrade for $1.
or if it'll still say "extend" or something else… [nope, cant cancel, already paid]

  • +3

    Sterling ?

  • Can i buy it as gift for 1$?

    • Yes

    • Does not work for me. Says $1 but then when I press buy as gift it goes back to standard pricing.

      • doesnt work for me too

  • +2

any idea when this will end? want to maximize microsoft flight sim time

    • +1

      I'd like to know too.

    • +2

Jesus your comments throughout Ozbargain get so many downvotes.

      I can see why

      • -3

That should give you an idea how many people here get easily brainwashed by a satanic corp…. >_>

        • +2

Brainwashed probably says more about yourself than anyone else

          • -2

@4agte: Someone who knows about "true" reality is brainwashed?!? lol

I get that sometimes, all from delusional kids though (looks at you)

        • yav he he.

  • Don't forget Cashback… Get paid $0.60 net to try this offer out. Too bad shows me at full price. Have done this a few times in the past where I got paid to register for this.

  • +1

Any deals on xbox live gold for 12 months?

    • CD keys Brazil would be the cheapest

      • Can you buy brazil gold live key for a total of 35 months, then switch to ultimate for $1?

        • Yes. I have done it for several people

          • @4agte: Are there any catches when buying Brazil Gold Live keys and adding them to your account? Nervous to be left with a Brazil key bought from CDKeys that I cannot use :) Cheers

            • @Homith: Would like to know the answer to this as well. Cant afford to buy 35 months worth for it to then not work :/

            • @Homith: No catches. My xbox accounts and others I have setup are Australian. They remain Australian. I can buy things from from the AU store. Friends from different regions can gift me games.

          • @4agte: Will it work if we already had ultimate trial in the past (already expired)?

            • @hanofee: Only if it is expired. If you try beforehand it won't allow you to add to a subscription from other region. In that instance you just wait

          • -1

@4agte: Do you need VPN to activate?

          • @4agte: So best to make a 2nd account I assume if you already had a current subscription and have used one if the past $1 offer?

I almost never have time to play online anyway so I don't really care to much about switching accounts.

            • @Duff5000: You don't need to make a new account as long as your old subscription is expired.

  • +1

The link is wrong :)) That links show $15 for me.
    This link works instead: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/xbox-game-pass-for-pc-beta…

    • +1

The deal link is for the Ultimate, which may not be $1 for you if it's not your "first" month. Your link is for the PC pass only, which seems to be $1 even if it isn't your first month, but is also good if you don't need the ultimate extras.

      • Is it still $1 per month even after first month?

        • +1

For the PC pass yes, you just need to make sure to let it expire/cancel and not auto-renew. It will then appear as $1 after your current subscription expires. I've done this a few times already.

  • +1

    First time I'm playing Halo.
    Not bad.
With my PS4 controller as well lol.

    • Have you got the PS4 controller to work natively with the xbox beta app? Having trouble with mine (won't recognise the controller)

  • +1

I've used this method twice now. I had to wait for my Xbox Live Gold subscription to end before I could sign up a second time. But went and bought a 12 month Xbox Live Gold card from Coles and then signed up. It gave me an extra month to set up recurring billing (which I then cancelled anyways) and then another month when I spent the $1 on upgrading to Ultimate Game Pass. So all up, $81 for 14 months access to Ultimate Game Pass.

  • So I went ahead and bought 3x Xbox Live Gold passes from the Brazil site but forgot that I had already 10 months left on my account.
I wasn't able to apply the 3rd pass so I have one left if someone wants it?

  • +1

I did this about a year ago when I was last aware of it and am good to June 2022 at this point :D I'm guessing I can't add another year of Gold then this to extend that even further.

    • No, the deal is a one-off.
If you add more Gold, it will be subjected to conversation ratios instead:

      • 1 month of Gold = 20 days of Ultimate
      • 3 months of Gold = 50 days of Ultimate
      • 6 months of Gold = 79 days of Ultimate
      • 12 months of Gold = 4 months of Ultimate
      • 24 months of Gold = 8 months of Ultimate
    • -1

      @Benny
Hit me up as I may take this if it’s not to hard to activate

  • But a month of PC Game Pass FIRST for $1, then upgrade for $1 for $2-2mth

Wrong order of Ultimate first won't work

  • I had the Gamepass ultimate conversion previously which has now expired. So I purchased 2 years of gold but when trying to go into the $1 deal for ultimate it immediately changes to $15 once i sign in. Now $15 would be fine if it converts my 2 years of gold but if I dont get 2 years of ultimate out of it will be miffed, anyone know if I can join for the $15 and it will convert the full gold?

    • +1

it won't restack as mentioned aboe - one time deal only so i you did it before you can't do it again

    • +1

For me, it wasn't once off. I had 2 conversions so far, and both time with $1 Ultimate deal. On both occasions, I had Gamepass for console and Gamepass for PC converted (with the first conversion had 2 Game with Gold months as well). I did need to have the first one completely run out.

If you are unsure, ask Microsoft XBox Support to confirm before you buy (I would also ask why $1 deal isn't available - seems strange). XBox support team are quite helpful and friendly. You could even ask support to buy for you.

Personally, I don't see real saving for getting long term GamePass Ultimate deal. Microsoft so far have had $1-$2 special deals every time a new first party exclusive is out. I haven't purchased any Gold 12 months subscription so far and I get to play every first party exclusives at launch ever since GamePass adds every first party exclusive to it by paying $1 each time. Microsoft also have done Xmas $1 deals for the past 3 years. There is also Microsoft awards.

It will play a key role in next gen console. Being able to play Halo 5 at launch for free (pretty sure Microsoft will throw in 30 days free trial voucher for every next gen console) is something only Microsoft can do.

      • So, we could do that $1 trial offer multiple times (whenever it’s available & we don’t have active subs)?

  • I bought 3x Xbox Live Gold passes from the Brazil site but accidentally applied the 2 months free Xbox live if I set up recurring which means I can’t apply the third Xbox live gold code.

Anyone interested in buying the code from me ?

    • I wouldn’t mind buying the code - but First can anyone explain the rationale for buying three years of codes? Is that required to get the $1 upgrade?

How come you can’t apply the third code once you’ve got the 2 free months?

      • +1

You can convert any amount of gold months to ultimate. 3 years is the maximum years of gold you can convert to ultimate. BZL gold keys can be picked up around $45/year. At this price you can get 3 years of ultimate for $136. Even on AU gold prices you save stacking longer gold periods

  • My ultimate pass expired yesterday and I never done a conversion before.

I bought 3 Xbox Live Gold passes from the Brazil site and applied to my account successfully. My gold now expires on 8/8/2023. When I tried to upgrade it for $1 to ultimate, it says it will cost me $15.95 a month. Chatting to Microsoft support they said it only applies to new accounts the $1. However I can wait for next month and I can buy one month of ultimate, then I should be upgrade my gold for the remainder of the 35 months for free. So it will cost me another $15.95 instead of $1.

Sound a bit funny to me. Does this go in line with what others been doing with existing account instead of new accounts?

    • I’ve found that there’s usually a fair time lapse between When I can get the $1 bonus deal on Xbox subscriptions after I’ve previously been a member.

      • How long? Not desperately needing it but it would be nice to get it. Don't mind paying $16 if its once off to activate it

        • +1

If I look through my old emails and subscriptions (I've only ever done $1 ones) they're all around 3 months apart
