Do LEGO stores (either physical and/or online) have any kind of policy whereby they will match advertised prices through, say, their authorised resellers?

Yes… they have a 'no' policy.
I asked in store at Bondi 2 weeks ago and they don't. Which to me makes sense because most other locations with the cheaper prices don't actually have stock. Otherwise you'd get it from there.

Flagship stores exist for brand image.
If they undercut their resellers, they wouldn't have any.
What did the LEGO store say when you asked them?
They don't price match at all. They don't let you apply the 10% discount code on exclusive items even if you have a Merlin Annual Pass. It'll still be cheaper to get from Kmart, Bigw etc even with the 10% discount.
Not sure, but if they do it would likely include any shipping price. If it’s just a price match it’s probably easiest/least hassle to just get it from the cheaper place to begin with.
