HP ProLiant N40L MicroServer $269.95 Plus Delivery

38

Just received an email from megabuy. For those may have missed last time. Looks like there is a newer machine with slightly better specs now available.

Not sure if it is a bargain or not. But found still many people still willing to pay $250 for the N36L before, I think the price isnt too bad. Not sure if it is available from another shop.

    NOT A DEAL, cheaper elsewhere
    http://www.koitech.com.au/products/microservers/hp-proliant-…

i would rather have my gentleman's region manscaped by a blind epileptic than shop from megabuy.

    • Good find. As I said, not sure if this was available from another shop with cheaper price. I have no intention of getting this one anyway. Thanks for the neg.

      • +1

sorry, the neg was not for you, but for the price and the vendor.

        • Well, I have never deal with megabuy before so not sure how they could be. But with another source for the previous N36L, I am still waiting for my refund after 3 month for the order. :-(

  • +1

    Neg.

    meganeg!

neg for the vendor, you're never going to get any positive stuff on here unless you're selling things for $1, even then the loyalty will only last as far as you can throw the $1

    • That's the least justifiable comment I have ever seen on OzB

  • not a bargain - more than a few places will be selling this for less

  • lol tough crowd

  • this is an N40L which seems to be a minor update to the N36L

    won't make much difference really

    • This one comes with 2gig, 36L came with 1gig. Not sure if there is anything else.

      • +1

It uses the N40L CPU instead of the N36L CPU. It's 1.5GHz, where the N36L was 1.3GHz. Same architecture and feature set though.

      • I'd behappier if it came with no ram or hd. or, 4gb of ram and no hd. that way, at least, you just need another 4gb stick. 250gb hd isn't worth much.

my heart sank just a little at having bought the n36l not too long ago and seeing a new model come out but, honestly, i doubt the .2Ghz is worth it. the ram "upgrade" certainly isn't.

Cheaper elsewhere, plus MegaScum deserve the neg period. These pigs deliberately buy up all the stock of these to stop other suppliers from undercutting their massive profit margins.

this could be a bit dumb…

    but …

neg cos everyone else is …

    yes i am a sheep.

  • I've given you a pos for bringing this to my attention!
I was about to buy a n36l, had no idea there was a newer model.

Not sure where "it is cheaper", but definitely worth to add $5 to buy from a reputable place like eyo!

Personally I might go with PLE as they are local for me.

EDIT: noticed in the post above that Koitech are cheaper, but have never heard about them (whirlpool search shows nothing), anyone know if they are good?

    • +2

I had recently bought a video capture station from them and it was one of the 1st places I checked for a price, they are a sponsor on overclockers.com.au and there is nothing but positive feedback there too about experiences with koitech. If PLE are local, grab it there as you will avoid postage which will bring it close enough to PLEs price anyway.

      • Yes, for sure I would go with PLE.

  • Harris Technology is listing N40L for $243 pickup from store.
