+2 votesThis is a good deal, but I have had very poor experiences with Homeshop. They consistently deliver the wrong quantities, omit items altogether, and pack bruised/unripe produce. Once the drivers showed up reaking of pot and couldn't put a sentence together. It's a shame because the concept is wonderous.
That said, the couple times I've actually bothered to complain, they've happily credited my account. That's fine and dandy, but when you're shopping to cook by recipe, getting the wrong quantity is a deal breaker.
+3 votesheathsouter on 24/10/2011 - 11:40 ¶i am also no happy with the fresh produce, but it is usually down to the growers and availability.
Our store came out best in australia and best in region, so i cant comment on other stores quality etc. But we try our best…
+1 votebut it is usually down to the growers and availability.
i don't see how…
my local fruit shop always has excellent quality fruit and veg and similar prices to the supermarkets (except for red-spot items)… Coles and Woolies fruit & veg are nearly always really crap… either unripe, tasteless or overripe and mouldy.
+2 votesthe discombobul... on 24/10/2011 - 11:54 ¶Yeah. I've not been enthused by our local coles/woolies. I do my packaged food shopping there then shift over to the local fruit+veg shop for the fresh stuff. It's cheaper AND better quality.
+2 votesheathsouter on 24/10/2011 - 11:38 ¶sale items yes. non-sale items can differ. I am speaking of sa, not sure about elsewhere.
kingsville on 24/10/2011 - 11:57 ¶yes - but I'm not sure the 2 for $X deals work. Didn't work for me…
the discombobul... on 24/10/2011 - 11:55 ¶Erm. Put your postcode in and go browse?
…
Oh. I see what you mean. That's idiotic. :/
+2 voteskingsville on 24/10/2011 - 12:09 ¶under 'new customer':
insert postcode, select suburb, click ok
heathsouter on 24/10/2011 - 12:02 ¶just looked at the terms in the email i was sent.
From the 31st October 2011 your account will be updated to reflect the pay online payment option only. Upon redeeming this promotional code offer your account will be flagged to credit card payment only. **Free delivery offer valid only when you spend $250.00 or more at Woolworths online.so not sure that it is $30 minimum for free delivery, usually it is $30 minimum spend for homeshop.
+2 voteskingsville on 24/10/2011 - 12:10 ¶I posted the deal after trying it. My order of $30.20 qualified for free delivery
+1 voteheathsouter on 24/10/2011 - 12:11 ¶ah ok, maybe it means that after October 31 you get free delivery if order is over $250. Half our orders are about that amount.
-3 votesOldManDude on 24/10/2011 - 12:47 ¶Which idiot would spend $250 on Woolies online JUST to get a $9 free delivery?
+6 votesMichael15286 on 24/10/2011 - 13:24 ¶Probably a person who was going to get $250 of groceries anyway.
+7 votesheathsouter on 24/10/2011 - 12:22 ¶we try to upgrade items, if we cant provide the item ordered. Say if you order homebrand salt and vinegar chips, and they are out of stock, we substitute with Smiths chips of the same flavour, at no extra cost.

Never had a problem with them but coles were shocking never ever again will i try them. They tried to say they improved now but i dont care if they were bad enough to do nothing about losing half of my big order and charge me for it then their management need looking at
+2 votessamfisher5986 on 24/10/2011 - 13:38 ¶For anyone that doesn't know.
Most products are quite a lot more expensive online then instore.
Woolworths used to offer online price check to prove this, but they removed it so only online prices can be seen.
If you do a large shop online, you will be paying quite a lot more.
Meat products, sale items and fruit/veg seem to be the same as instore but I havn't had a good look to 100% confirm this.
Its still a good deal, but its not exactly free, instead its a cheaper then normal.
kingsville on 24/10/2011 - 14:18 ¶The delivery IS free, compared to normal woolworths online prices :P
+4 votessamfisher5986 on 24/10/2011 - 14:55 ¶I don't think you understand my point.
For someone who physically shops at Woolworths, the delivery is not free as you have to factor in the marked up product prices.
Its a hidden fee that the average person doesn't notice but is part of the delivery fee.

The items online are either slightly more expensive, the same, or cheaper. As far as I know, all the sale items are available online.
I work in homeshop, and sometimes use homeshop, I usually do not buy squishy produce or bread, because even if we pack it good, sometimes it turns outs squashed.
heatseeker424 on 24/10/2011 - 17:04 ¶Hope everyone takes up this offer and I have an easy weekend at woolies!
eagleanthony on 24/10/2011 - 19:42 ¶They sell alcohol (so long as it's daytime delivery hours) — good way to get a case or three of beer to your front door :)
I suppose it wouldn't come chilled though!
kingsville on 25/10/2011 - 07:54 ¶being in stock doesn't matter, just permit substitutes and you might end up with Perrier!
the discombobul... on 25/10/2011 - 08:01 ¶Or even better, Evian! (has anyone spelt that backwards, btw? :)

Thanks for posting.
Last time they had free delivery for a month and I must've ordered 5 or 6 times.
Here are my experiences:Pros: convenient, easy to view specials and compare items, when ordering meat/produce they will always give you more than what you pay for. Some times that give you extra stuff by accident (I got a free pack of Snickers once). Free Delivery!!!
Cons: You'll occasionally get bread/meat near best before date. I'm sure if you complained though you'd get a refund. Less selection (although all the usual brands are there). Multi-buy specials not recognised.
