  • What's the activation expiry date?

    • 'You must activate within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised in the promotion (whichever is earlier). Offer may be withdrawn at any time.'

      Its on the link provided…
You must activate within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised in the promotion (whichever is earlier). Offer may be withdrawn at any time.

    • 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised in the promotion (whichever is earlier).

But I can't see any advertised date?

      • +1

It says “or”. If there is no advertised date then it’s 30 days from the purchase date.

    • I have talked to their customer support. You can still activate it after 30 days but you are risking if they change their plan so you might have a different one than you brought. As long as they don't change the plan after 30 days you are all good. If not, you wish they will have a similar updated plan.

      • I can confirm you can activate it after 30 days.

When will they bring back $4.90 Sim with 40g data

    • +4

Everyone's waiting for this. Need a super cheap sim to switch between Kogan and Catch Connect.

      • if catch connect doesn't bring back $15 / 90 day plan. what are best alternatives?

  • +8

    Optus network for those wondering.

  • +1

Cost only $112 after $8 cashback.

    • +1

Or $108 with 10% off Unidays code :)

      • Unidays code only applies on the main Catch site I think.

        • +1

True, but also available on Catch

          • @pennypincher98: Does this mean we can use catch gift cards to buy it?

Anyone tested before I buy a $120 gift card?

            • @No: Yes and can stack with 10% student discount too

              • @CVonC: Awesome thanks, I don't have the 10% student discount but I did have a $10 credit and access to gift cards off at 8%.

Worked out to be a smidge over $100 and they will give me 1200 flybuys I think.

                • @No: You can request for one here :)

          • @pennypincher98: When it was extended the first time around the price wasn't reflected on catch.com.au but now it is thankfully.

    • I think I looked yesterday and it was $150. And it may have been expired for longer than that?

      • Maybe on the catchconnect site but on Catch.com it's been the same.
        Actually 60GB has dropped $1 to $99

  • 30 days is an issue. My current plan only expires in December. I like Boost in that matter, they give long expiry

  • +1

Bring on free international calls, Catch Connect!

    • +1

Yes, would've been better if free international calls are chucked in. In saying that this is still a good deal and deserves an upvote.

      • +2

Sure, it would then give this deal a 'Boost'.

    • No I’d rather it be cheaper and not have them. I’d wager most people don’t need to ring internationally and those that do can use Skype.

      • You can add 5 dollar pack for 100mins international calls

  • On FLOPTUS - should be on the title pls.

  • What's a good low cost 28-30 day call plan with ~2-3GB data to get to bridge between 2 365-day plans ?

    • Aldi $15 plan, 30 days 3GB

      • Thx mate!

  • +2

We need 90 days for $15

  • Idk wtf is wrong with Vodafone and Optus in my Area have full Bars 4g… whenever i make a call drops to 3g and barely even dials.

Price is good though i'm going to try Boost this time.

    • I think that would be caused by not having volte. Are you actually using Vodafone and Optus or a reseller?

      • I was using catch connect & now Kogan… i guess thats right. I never experienced the other issues such as not receiving calls or not being able to make calls before.

Same with my mum's phone who also has Kogan Atm… Wonder if 3g is congested or something.

        • Yea those resellers don’t have volte. 3G is just a worse technology so having a phone call and data over it at the same time will be slower data and worse call quality.

    • +2

No VoLTE = CSFB to 3G

  • Definition of "new" customer. Can I port out, then port back in say 30 days later and be considered a new customer?

    • +1

      yes
you can port back in the same day.

      • I've read somewhere on here that people have had issues porting out/in on the 30day prepaid plans because you're not considered a "New Customer"?
Could have been Kogan Mobile though??

        • +1

never had an issue - done it quite a few times.

          • @bohn: Sweet, thanks!

  • Is porting your number complicated if you are married and now have a different last name? Should I take out the new sim in my old name (but do you need to prove your ID). If I use my new name to sign up, can I still port my old number even tho its in a different name?

  • Does anyone have any experience with the network quality on Catch? Wondering if its worth it or paying 30$ more on Optus and go with them https://offer.optus.com.au/shop/prepaid/sim-card/180-sim?SID…

    • +1

Catch and Optus use the same network.

    • +1

one thing that I like with Optus is voicemail messages are sent to you as an audio file to listen to.
Don't think you can do that on catch. You have to ring voicemail.

I have read about people having issues receiving sms' on catch that they didn't have happen on Optus.

  • Boost had international calls to few countries included on top of the usual in $135

    • Yes, thats the reason I picked up the boost sim :) Oh, that and the telstra network. I have seen telstra works better in my place.

    • Its not available any more for new customers

  • +1

We were on the predecessor of this plan until last month. They had this same offer available at that time also for new customers only. Renewal for existing customers was $150 as noted in the original post. For $150 Optus had an equivalent offer at the time, so we elected to go with that.

Just a warning for anyone to anyone considering moving to Catch. We found the process of porting away from them a nightmare. We ported two plans (a couple of days apart) and both were difficult, taking several days and multiple support calls to get actioned. On the second port I think I was up to 7 interactions (5 I think on the first port). The impression I got was that they were trying to get an automatic renewal triggered by retaining the account past the end of plan date. We started the process well before the end date and fortunately had auto-renew switched off, even so we were without outbound calls for a couple of days in both cases because they just wouldn't let go of the number.

For anyone taking moving to catch connect I would recommend immediately turning off auto-renew, and if you do want to later port away start the process at least a couple of days before the end of your plan (and follow the standard advice to port Monday to Friday in business hours).

    • I would recommend immediately turning off auto-renew

Also, once you have turned it off, go back into the auto-renew again. I have turned it off and gone back in and it is still enabled - this has happened a few times.

      • Idk if it's true, but apparently, it Auto renews each time you go into that menu

        • Not true for me, but either way it doesn't seem stable ;)

    • I ported out from Catch last Saturday morning into Amaysim (also Optus network), process was done in less than 4 hours.

  • Good deal. Only $5/month more than budget SIM-switching

  • planning to buy this, can i keep my current number?

  • +1

Good News. Catch is now $99 for 12 months.

Yes you can keep your same number. Its easy, I have swapped my wife's and daughters phone number many times between Kogan and Catch.

My tip , when porting do not remove the old sim card until your receive a text to send a code and wait for instructions to swap sim cards.(make sure your old sim is active prior)

(same as 2plus2) I remove the credit card auto renew once the new porting and account online access has been completed and i set a reminder in my calendar 30 days prior to the expiry of the plan.

I bought a Catch E-Gift card with my Suncorp App (same as the AAMI app) and received 6% off,$99 cost me $93.06 ($7.75pm).

(e gift card can only be applied from the catch home page)

    • When you register with Catch again (after switching to Kogan in between), can you use the same email again or does it have to be a different one to be a ‘new user’?

      • +1

        same email address

    • That's only 60gb though, why not pay the extra $20 for double the data?

  • If I am already with Optus directly can I buy this from catch?

    • Yeah, you can port from Optus to Catch.

      • Thanks

  • Can you re-use an old Catch sim card (I'm on Kogan now), or do you need to wait for them to ship out the a new Catch sim?

  • +1

I always wait for the new Catch sim, usually takes about 7 days to arrive.

  • Anyone received there sim yet? I ordered on the 7th, hoping to get it before my Kogan expires on the 20th.

    • Mine came in the mail today. Ordered on the 13/08.

  • Just confirming if anyone currently with Catch Connect has access to VoLTE? An Optus media release from July 2020 said MVNOs would get access, but haven't heard anything since then.

  • Hi guys i lost my phone and i need sim urgently. Do you know from where i can get it. I tried local 711 and woolworths but nothing there
