    • I doubt a "new" one will be that price anytime soon. A refurbished (like the link you posted) may become available at that price.

    And delivery in 2021?

  • DELLEPP15: The coupon code entered is invalid. Please check the code to ensure that it was entered correctly

    • Dell quickly invalidated the coupon after influx of orders , i tested it 3-4 hrs ago and was working
Got a total of 1600$ off on an Alienware but damn i didn't buy and left for tonight which is gone :(

      • I was almost goign to do the same thing, but I researched the market quite thoroughly and the Dell XPS 17 2060 model, at $4k (what i paid after the discount code stacking) is actually cheaper than the US from the last time i checked

    Awesome monitor.

Only complaint I have is when using the USB-C as single connector to my Macbook Pro and I leave my desk and my Macbook locks the screen. The monitor detects no signal and therefore itself goes to sleep. Later, the Macbook battery falls to a certain threshold (probably 99%) and it checks its USB-C to see if it can find power. This wakes the monitor up which brings the monitor out of its sleep and starts supplying power to the Macbook. Of course, the Macbook then beeps as it starts charging. This cycle repeats every couple of minutes and gets quite annoying.

Probably not the best for the battery cycles too. Possible to set a longer time to screen lock on your MacBook?

    • Yeah, lots of posts about it on the net with different behaviour depending on firmware version.
I usually lock screen on MBP using the shortcut key combination and close the lid.
Not that I sit in front of it afterwards but have never heard any beeps indicating power cycling.

    • Does the usb-c cable come with package work with your Macbook pro? Mine was delivered yesterday and the cable does not work for both my mac pro and HP windows machine. I had to order a thunderbolt 3 usb-c cable, waiting for it to be delivered tmr and test it out…

      • Yes, a supplied cable works great.
You probably got a faulty one. I'd just contact Dell for a replacement.

    • What is the sound quality like? I'm wanting to get rid of my crappy speaker setup.

  • Phew, i was going to pull the trigger, was not sure i should get this or the xiaomi for half the price.

If you game, I would go for the Xiaomi. It does freesync and g-sync upto 144Hz and has pretty good specs.

If your only going to use it for porn and other work related uses where color accuracy is important, probably get this.

      • I am a software engineer, so I spend a lot of time writing code. I thought xiaomi would serve the same purpose as the resolution is the same. I don't do design, so color accuracy might not be an issue.

        • +2

Yeah get the Xiaomi from Gearbite (local Australia seller who will give you 2 years warranty).

There are a couple of video reviews on youtube, not super detailed but it gives you a good idea.

    • ive heard once you go 144hz you dont go back…

  • Just google, and found out 27gn950 in stock in Mware

    $1500!!

  • Has build in speakers, less cable and less clutter.

    Also has virtual KVM, nice!

May seriously consider if under $1,000.

You were holding out for $2.01 off?

      • +1

Thats a Kitkat right there though!

      • +1

        I missed $1002.

Then again, it's probably too wide. I swapped from 30" to 27" and feel 27" is the right size.

  • Best deal was the 49" Dell Ultrasharp with Cashrewards - $1,106.95 including shipping after cashback.

    • It maybe for some. But not everybody like/want such massive screens.

    • I agree, that would be a great monitor for office use!

    • Can you please educate us on how to get the price down to this point mate?

      • +1

        it was a price error

  • I got given one of these at work, it's a great screen, but if you are paying for it to replace 2 24"fhd monitors not sure if it's worth 1k just to not have a line in the middle. Also windows isn't really optimised for screens this big (but it is on balance better, just maybe not 600 to 1k bucks better), at least maybe not for productivity)

Check out Powertoys - awesome little set of utilities that makes a big screen much easier to use
