DeLonghi Nespresso VertuoPlus Red $149 ($69 after $80 Cashback via Redemption) @ Harvey Norman

230

Soo I stumbled upon this last night while looking for a new machine as my current original one is playing up and saw that it's probably the cheapest machine out there for the Vertuo line (sticker price is $279 but HN at the moment are selling it for $149).

Yes I know capsule coffee is not for everyone and the Vertuo line is pretty dear but a deal's a deal. Stock level for Sydney isn't much for this particular one (just picked up mine from Balgowlah) and delivery may take ages as they come from your local store who will end up having to order it if they don't have it.

There are other machines in the Vertuo line that qualify for the cashback.

EDIT: Changed title to be clearer as someone's reported it already. Also, cashback is claimed via Nespresso directly on www.nespressopromotion.com.au

Are there compatible pods? or you can only get the genuine Nespresso ones since there's barcode for each of the flavours?

So far, only Nespresso sell them which is why they are dearer than the Original pods.

For me, it makes sense to go to Vertuo as I drink a mug a day and I usually have to use two capsules a time just to get the mug full enough after adding milk..

      • Thanks. Ordered one for pick up although it says out of stock in local store but still let me do C&C. See what happens :)

  • I think they’re clearing out the old vertuo.
    The new one is out

    • That probably explains why the sale and why also only three HN stores in Sydney have this model (Balgowlah, Belrose, and Broadway).

    • Are you talking about the Vertuo Next?

      • Yep

    • Reviews I saw for Next were really bad. So I decided to get this model. Bought my vertuoPlus almost 2 years ago.
      Works really well.
Wouldn't want the new model if my old one finally fails.

  • Thanks, got one in Canberra

  • Your better off getting the subscription as you can use the repayments as credit to buy the pods with free delivery.

    • I mean if you drink enough coffee then that will make sense but based on my maths, I am still ahead with this deal as my capsule spend will be most likely $300 per yr ($50 per two months) and the subscription for the machine is $720 for the first 12 months. I dont need the Aeroccino as my current one is still fine so I am still ahead significantly.

  • I got one of these free through that Toyota deal and 400 pods last year. My wife loves it, damn shame there’s no aftermarket pods!

    • Refill pods. $13 will get you 1kg Brazilian coffee from ALDI. This is approx 125 pods .

Also, if your higher quality Delonghi machine is broken, you might be able to use parts from this, ie I bought a Latissima just for the boiler to put in my Perfecta.

      • When my nesspresso machine broke I contacted them and they couriered out a loaner one while they fixed mine. It was way out of warranty and I didnt use to buy very many pods from them either.
When they sent back my old one it came with 20 free pods and everything was free of charge.
I think it's like printers where they make their money from the pods. If your machine isn't working they cant make any sales to you.

  • As an update re the cashback: I lodged it same day I picked up the machine and after checking with Nespresso re an issue with the account name field on the online form (it wont accept my full surname so had to put it in one letter short), I got an email within 30mins saying cashback approved and this Monday just gone, I received the second email confirming cashback has been paid and when I checked my account later that day, it was there.

  • The HN website says $179 (before cashback) for me - and zero stock in any of the 8 Gold Coast / Brisbane stores.

Delivery is $10 - which takes the price to $189 ($109 after cashback).

    • Late reply I know but the time I bought it, my specific model (red/coral colour) was $149 but sticker price is indeed $179 so got lucky there I suppose.

      • I ordered online for click and collect, but they called the next day to say they can't supply or order this model so we're going to cancel my order. And the purchase date for cashback has now past too.
