  • Is this locked to Optus as well?

    • Sure is.

  • which store in Sydney have stocks? Went to KMart in Miranda last night and no stock.

  • +1

Does anyone know if it can be unlocked without Optus's "help"? Going oversea soon!

  • Went last week and they had no stock..
Got a rain check for $299.00 and still havent got a call from Kmart advising its available..
Did you price match optus online or is this the new low price?

  • Is it Kmart at Westfield Belconnen? Thanks

    • Look at the receipt ;)

      But yes it is.

  • I just called up Kmart Footscray and they have it for $299.

    • Thanks for confirming. Then it looks like it's only for this specific store.

      I'll edit the title.

All sold out for 2 weeks in Broadway Shopping Centre, Sydney.

  • last time i checked (2 days ago), there were still plenty of stocks in Sunnybank Plaza (for all you QLDers), but it was marked $299

  • Damn. I ordered mine online from the optus website and I have to wait till next week.

    • Nahh.. Their delivery is pretty quick..
Check the link they emailed you for delivery updates.. Mine was supposed to be within 24hrs but the delivery guy was stupid n he took it back to the warehouse. so gotta wait another day..

    ACT only :(

Sorry Mario, your HTC is in another castle…

  • No good Android phones are ever available (that are cheap) that support the NextG frequency. Boo :(

    • acer liquid metal! Though out of stock everywhere except jb @ elizabeth st, Vic.

      • Haha…that doesn't help! Cheers though.

      • Um, I called the Elizabeth street store yesterday - they have no stock either

  • +1

just buy from the online store. I got mine yesterday. It comes with the 16Gb card.

    • +1

      received as well.

  • I rang Belconnen. They said their price is $299, but have sold them for $269 due to price match. I think you could go into any kmart and get a price match off the optus deal. Worth a try.

The website says that online retailers won't be pricematched. If this is an Optus online offer, not sure where it stands in terms of price match.

      Terms and Conditions

Competitor's product must be in stock in the required quantities in a retail outlet located in Australia. Product must be identical (e.g. same brand, same model, same colour). Adequate confirmation of competitor's current advertised price required. We will not match online retailers, clearance or warehouse outlets.

  • BigW usually price matches

Just phoned my local Kmart as i had laybyed yesterday ,spoke to manager ,he said to print receipt and bring down and he would price match so thank you very much op,now ill use the savings for the Otterbox Defender Case.

  • So do you guys think this is a better phone that the original samsung galaxy s, or is it still better to grab a samsung?

    • +3

Depends on what you need it for.
      Basically comes to

      Touchwiz vs Sense
      5mp vs 8mp
non vs Front facing camera( good for ICS which I don't know if incredible is getting)
Processor are similar and single core

Personally I'd say get a dual core phone since ICS will support native dual core processing. Even a 1st gen dual core will be good enough 2 years later, single core not so much.

The only company still churning out single core phones is SE and look how bad it is selling. The Dual core revolution is here, quad core revolution will start with the SGS3( hopefully)

      • cool dude. well said.

I am thinking about getting this HTC, but i'd rather get a dual core to be more future proof… do u know what the next cheapest/awesome dual core phone is? Is it the galaxy SII? i think it's hard to compete against the incredile S at this price…
        Thanks for ur help

        • for awesome you would be looking at the Razr(expensive) the SII( a bit cheaper) or the Galaxy Nexus( still disappointing for me).

Cheaper ones would be the Optimus 3D, 2X and the Atrix, price vs perfomance Atrix is the winner.

I had a read of most of these phones when I was buying mine and found ebay US had a good price on all of them. Choose AT&T as carrier but remember no warranty.

Cheapest one australian stock would be the Lg Optimus 2X

        • ahh cool. Well vodafone is selling the Galaxy Google Nexus outright for the same price. I think that would be the only true competitor in terms of price and performance. but it is only single core right? and why is it disappointing for you?

Of the phones u mentioned which are dual core?

          Thanks mate :)

        • +1

Note the Nexus S is different to the Galaxy Nexus.

All phones that I mentioned are dual core except for the Nexus S( which is like the Galaxy S1)

ANy of them would be fine, individual buying guides can be found on whirlpool, and will be a better source of information than Ozbargain.

Here's the buying guide for all the dual-core phones

          Motorola Razr
Samsung Galaxy S2 && Overseas buying guide
          Google Galaxy Nexus
          LG Optimus 3D
          LG Optimus 2X
          Motorola Atrix
          HTC Sensation

        • ah thanks a lot. top effort! I will look into it.

          Cheers

Kmart Penrith won't price match even with optus website loaded on my phone with the cheaper price. still $299. Was worth a shot though.

  • +1

I was lucky enough to get Kmart at Carousel to price match with a printout of the Optus deal for $269.10. Love the phone, I think its a bargain!

  • pity about [ACT only].

    but great deal

  • Might not be ACT only. No harm contacting your KMART to see if they will price match.

Seems like taking a printout of the Optus webpage helped for on poster?

    • -1

Yeah. I'm pretty sure the $269 at Belconnen was through price match. When I call them, they still quoted $299 for the phone, but when I asked them how they were selling it for $269, they said the manager did a price match.

      • -1

FYI, Kmart Tuggeranong WOULD NOT price match Belconnen. They rang Belconnen and Belco said the price as a "mistake" and they weren't offering it for for $269 anymore. Apparently a few people had come in with the docket and none were given the $269 price, so no deal.

Seems like a one off that some guy rang up for one customer.

Edit: Sorry Arts04, I think I accidently negged you!

  • We all should demand for price match not begging for it. We do them a favor to buy from them when we could buy from optus for same price. No wonder why people buy online.
