  • Link just goes to the Marketplace and not the specific title.

EDIT: There we go. Wow an original Xbox game. Never played one of those.

Brings back memories. Truly one of the greatest games of all time

Wonder how 'Pandora Tomorrow' plays considering the issues with the PC version due to the newer HW :/

Was deff a great series the early SC games :D

  • Oh cool, didn't realise some of these had been enhanced for XB1X. Picked up this, DA, Conviction and Blacklist.

    • +1

All the original Xbox games are One X enhanced to render at 4k. No improved framerates or options however.

      • Are there any enhanced for regular xbox one/one s? You'd think there's enough spare grunt to do this easily

        • +1

Yeah, the original Xbox games are all enhanced up to a native 1080p on One/One S

          • @Ninternet: Does that work even if you have the original CD/DVD of the game?

            • @Jackson: Yep. The Xbox One consoles don't "read" those old discs like the old systems did. They detect which games they are and then download the game to your system via the internet with the catch being that you'll need to insert the disc each time to play

Classic game, and a total killer soundtrack by Amon Tobin on this.

  • Quick question.

Double agent is on both Xbox and Xbox 360 and both play on the Xbox one. Which one do I buy?

    • +1

Both are good. Interestingly, one of the few games with the exact same title but quite different storylines. I preferred the OG Xbox version story, especially the ending.

    • +1

'Critical Nobody' has done a great review of all the (main) Splinter Cell games, including both versions of Double Agent - worth a watch: https://youtu.be/TR3xAf6tSxc

      Time stamps in the description.

      • Thanks

Pity they are not in widescreen but oh well

        • Likewise for Chaos Theory - it was "remastered" for the PS3 in 16:9, but on the Xbox it's stayed in 4:3. :-(

          • @stokesy77: Is the remaster better then the Xbox originals via Xbox one x?

            • @Twisty: Looking into this more on YouTube, it looks to me like the PS3 version was zoomed in to fill the wider aspect ratio. Whereas, although it's still 4:3 on the Xbox One X, it is upscaled to 1920p and much clearer/crisper thanks to the X's 16x anisotropic filtering (and likely other things I have no idea about!).

              • @stokesy77: Ahh thanks heaps

                • @Twisty: Now that I've played this I can confirm it's (almost) 16:9, filling most of my TV screen. Sorry for the wrong info before, not sure where I read that but it must not have been about the One X. And for a 15 year old game, it looks pretty good! Better than I expected.

So glad I got it - thanks OP!

                  • @stokesy77: Thanks
I just picked up the 4 Xbox original splinter cell games ;)

  • Meeeeemmmories….

How does the gameplay/graphics hold up these days?

Probably terribly would be my guess.

I recently installed blacklist and played a few missions on PC but couldnt get into it, saying that I dont know if it had the classic splinter cell slow methodical pace I use to like, seemed more like a game version of CSI, with big drama, tech cutscenes etc.

  • My only worry buying OG Xbox or Xbox 360 games these days is that there's a chance they'll be free with Gold eventually. It's why I haven't bought Conker's Bad Fur Day yet. I caved and bought Silent Hill HD Collection the other day though as it was on sale.
