Flossy Carter (YouTube tech reviewer) loves this phone. Might wait for mi 10 ultra though

But this price is great πŸ‘

    • Isn't the ultra China-only?

      • +1

i think it's China only so no b28

        • So it is non Hell$tra but still the camera of all cameraphones if you like Dxomark.

      • I been following it and by the popularity of it they will be silly not to do a global version soon😎

    • +1

You mean the Mi10T Pro (it's the global Mi 10 Ultra)

      • Yes! I saw that name pop up and just disregarded it but just looked into it and yes!

But I think the cameras are abit diff?

Gymbal like stabilisation on the mi 10 t pro.

      • Thanks man

Got my eye on it. Hopefully the colour available will be better than the Mi 10 Ultra.

          • +1

@KLoNe: I really want the Mi 10 Ultra but it is now only available in China. Didnt know about the Mi 10T Pro, good to know. Will keep an eye out once its availalbe to us.

But does White Shoes like it?

This phone is basically the closest we'll get to the new iterations of Huawei models with GMS. I love my P30 Pro but if I were buying a phone today, this would probably be it.

      • White shoes approved. Thot protection mode as well

But true this will be the go to if Huawei doesn't get out alive…

But for these specs vs price. Would wait for the mi 10 ultra/ MI 10T pro and see what it prices at

        • Oh my bad, I mistakenly thought this was the Ultra version. Yeah that's the one I'd want. Camera goodness.

Sure, please point me to a phone that is not made in china? I am keen to buy an Australian made phone.

      • I have one made by Exicom you can have for a small fee, it would look great in your museum, or as a prop in your period piece about Holden

      • -1

Samsung! Most are made in S. Korea or Vietnam or India depending on the model. There's always an alternative for one's who actually give a crap about their country.

  • IP rating and Qi charging?

  • -6

at this price would recommend s20 instead

    • +2

      I wouldn't.

I was very interested in this phone until I saw the price tag. The RRP was horrendous. At this price it is reasonable.
Great build, amazing speakers (one bottom firing, one top firing [not through ear piece but like a replica of the bottom speaker but on top]), amazing battery.

Ive also had Xiaomi phones before and they worked well and lasted long, also their powerbanks serviced me well.

It's too bad I already upgraded my phone or else this might have been my go to.

  • Is oppo find x2 pro more better than this, apart from 120 hz on oppo, and 512 gb storage.

    • Yeah, it's better. Better screen (qhd, 120hz, 800 nits and gorilla glass 6). Oppos are also the king's of fast charging. Camera is similar but I still prefer Oppos sony sensors over the Samsungs on the Xiaomi. You get slightly better low light performance on the oppo. The Xiaomi does 8k video which the find X2 does not. Not a deal breaker right now.

    • Yes. I have that phone now. Loving it. Just so freakin annoying about the limited cases

I always go for UAG on my Samsung galaxys but man had to get some random ones off ebay

  • Does anyone know of Australian stock from a reputable establishment of the CN version? I want dual sim…

edit: never mind, it looks like the CN version has no Google Play store

    • You can make the Global variant into dual sim - not super simple, but can be done.

  • +1

Wow this has gone down in price quickly, considering i paid $1600 in mid July. Great phone though!

    • typical mi phone

  • No dual sim?

    • +2

From what I can see, only CN version is dual sim, but it has no Play store. Not sure if the ROM can be flashed to the global version or not, I haven't dug that deep.

      • +1

The CN version is missing AU network bands too. No B28.

  • +1

Compared to previous iterations of xiaomi phones, what makes this double the starting price? Is it literally just 5g or did they see oneplus do it and think they would join?

    • The price makes it that price. Please let us know if you can get it for half the starting price.

  • +2

3 way comparison incase anyone is interested:

    https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10055&idPhone…

    • +1

      I love a good 3-way

    • So essentially has a telephoto 5x zoom camera instead of a 2Mpixel macro (reviews say the macro is useless) and 50w fast charging instead of 30w.

  • Is the Mi 10 pro compatible with 5g network in Australia?

  • +1

How does this phone drop so much in price?! It was only released 1 to 2 months ago at $2k rrp…..

I paid $1240 for the pro but grey stock a month ago :/

    • -2

Most people with a brain knew that a Xiaomi isn't worth 1k.

  • +1

Wow great post OP. This is almost enough to drag me into Ebay plus in order to upgrade my S8. Thankyou for sharing.

  • Still seems a bit rich for a Xiaomi phone …
What's the main difference between this one and Poco F2 that is half the price?

  • If it doesn't say anything about Chinese version or Global version the it is a Chinese version, and it's a Big Nope.

    • Vendor confirmed Global version mobile

  • Ordered 03/09 still not sent now. Very disappointed.
